Zant is the last regular boss that you encounter before taking on Ganon. This is one of the most unique boss battles ever in a Zelda game, and certainly the funniest. Is he just 'playing' with you? Zant goofs off the entire fight as if Link is wasting his time - but didn't he get the memo? Ganon ain't around to save him!

READ THIS! This song is about Johnny Van Zant's older brother Ronnie, who died in a plane crash in 1977. Ronnie was the lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd; Johnny took over after his death. SOME FACTS: "The three of us walking down that road" refers to the Van Zant brothers (Johnny, Ronnie, Donnie). Brickyard Road is where Ronnie, his wife Judy, and his daughter Melody lived when he was killed on October 20,1977. This makes reference to "Freebird," the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic that came to symbolize Ronnie Van Zant after his death.

Awesome Video Game Music 131: Zant Battle
The title in the video is a typo- this is AVGM 131, not AVGM 130. Epic as it is... but then it gets more fast-paced and distorted... making it even more epic... Zant's one crazy mofo. And this awesome boss theme (or colelction of boss themes, from a certain point of view) fits his insanity. My favourite Zelda boss theme and #6 overall.

After gathering all the Fused Shadows last episode we head through Midna's portal to the outside world, however as soon as we are out, we are instantly asked by the evil itself, Zant. Being too powerful for us he takes our Fused Shadows, forcing Link back into wolf form permanently and exposing Midna to the light spirit, thing's look dire for our hero's but a last minute intervention by the light spirit teleports us out of Zant's grasp, though a lot more worse for wear. We have only one goal for now, in order to save Midna we must find Princess Zelda!

LYNYRD SKYNYRD Gravesites (former Van Zant)
On October 20, 1977 three members of the Southern Rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a plane crash. Those three members were originally buried next to one another in Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Florida. Ronnie Van Zant and Steve and Cassie Gaines were laid to rest just feet from one another. However, on June 29, 2000, Van Zant's and Steve Gaines graves were vandalized during an attempt to abduct the remains. Ronnie was relocated and the rumors were that Steve was also. And for those who've seen Morvern Callar, what do you think of this theory: Her dead boyfriend was like Jesus who dies for her sins. He gave her a chance "the book" and left a scripture "his music" to help her out. For religious types you could probably squeeze a library out of this but in the end she has to decide between her own interests or the group's.
