Carlos Lyra - Samba de la bendiction (Saravá!) 1969

Info from Loronix: Sarava was recorded in Mexico, when Lyra and other Brazilian artists were in cultural exile. This album is a nice and classic Bossa Nova piece. There is a term that zecalouro does not like but it is the best description for this record, "easy-listening". Enjoy! //Nat

Silvia Telles -Chora Sua Tristeza. (Show A Noite do Amor, Sorriso e da Flor. 1960)

This is A Noite do Amor, do Sorriso e da Flor - Faculdade de Arquitetura (1960), the anthological event produced by Ronaldo Boscoli, considered the first Bossa Nova Festival, featuring renowned Brazilian artists on a very early stage of their career supported by Roberto Menescal (guitar), Luiz Carlos Vinhas (piano), Luiz Paulo (bass), Helcio Milito (drums) and Bebeto (sax). Carlos Lyra -Maria Ninguem (Show Escola Naval, 1959).

The history of Bossa Nova right in front of you. This is Show da Escola Naval (1959), featuring the live recording of the anthological Bossa Nova concert produced by Ronaldo Boscoli at the Escola Naval, Rio de Janeiro, November 13, 1959, featuring Alaide Costa, Carlos Lyra, Chico Feitosa, Irmãos Castro Neves (Oscar, Mário & Ico), Lúcio Alves, Luiz Eça, Roberto Menescal and Sylvinha Telles. Escola Naval is a military facility in Rio de Janeiro and you should agree this is not a usual place to hold a Bossa Nova concert. The audience was perhaps a blend of military and Bossa Nova fans, and according with Ruy Castro's Chega de Saudade book, the theater had a capacity of 600 seats and almost 1000 people attended. This live recording has approximately 65 minutes running time and tons of details that are sure to amaze us, like the way some classical songs were performed in the beginning, several interesting conversations between the performers, with some really nice moments with Lucio Alves and Sylvinha Telles and Ronaldo Boscoli effort to define Bossa Nova to this brand new 1958 audience.
