Radiohead - Idioteque [Glastonbury 2003]

Radiohead, at Glastonbury Festival in 2003, playing "Idioteque". By 2003 most people had accepted the idea that it was no longer possible to crash the festival and hence it is recognised as one of the most successful years to date. The number of tickets available to the public was increased slightly over 2002, partially in response to criticism that the 2002 festival was underpopulated and lacked atmosphere. The tickets sold out within one day of going on sale, in marked contrast to the two months it took to sell a similar number in 2002. It was also the first year that tickets sold out before the full lineup was announced. This was also the year Radiohead returned to headline the Pyramid Stage. Revenue raised for good causes from ticket and commercial licence sales topped £1 million, half of which went to Oxfam, Greenpeace and Water Aid.

Radiohead - Creep [Live at The Astoria]

Radiohead, playing "Creep", from PABLO HONEY. Radiohead, in the "Live at the Astoria" concert on 27 May 1994, notable mainly for its collection of songs that would not appear until the release of THE BENDS, ten months later. It is also Radiohead's only concert home video/DVD to date. This dvd captures Radiohead playing an absolutely amazing gig. The quality of the performance is remarkable - Thom Yorke's soaring voice, Jonny Greenwood's frantic yet precise lead guitar, Ed O'Brien's haunting atmospheric sound. The tightness and balance of the band is awe-inspiring. The gig features songs from Pablo Honey and The Bends (plus a few others). These are Radiohead's more 'conventional, pre-experimental' songs, which will appeal to any fans of current UK rock music. They feature catchy melodies, great lyrics and amazing, powerful instrumentals. Director: Brett Turnbull.

The band had worked on In Rainbows for more than two years, beginning in early 2005. In between recording, the band toured Europe and North America for three months in mid-2006. The announcement of details about the album led to a flurry of media attention centered around the band's decision to first release the album online as a digital download for which fans could decide the price they paid. A special made-to-order "discbox", available for pre-order through inrainbows.com, was released on 3 December 2007. It contains the album on CD and two 12" heavyweight vinyl records with artwork and lyric booklets. The box includes a second enhanced CD which contains 8 additional tracks, as well as digital photos and artwork. The overall set is packaged in a hardcover book and slipcase. The discbox, priced at £40 (approx. US$80), also includes the MP3 download. Radiohead's managers, however, claimed that the Internet-only distribution was intended only to boost sales of the physical album.
