From the moment I heard this melody, I was entranced by its elegant simplicity. This piece is called "A Moon Filled Sky" and it was featured in the anime series Ef ~a tale of melodies. Although it is actually notated for violin and piano, I just decided to play it all on piano since I cannot play the violin. I hope that you enjoy this piece as much as I do.

A Moon Filled Sky - Mai Goto (Fingerstyle Guitar)
Oh well, after over 5 years your expections should be pretty low by now. After several weeks trying to smooth out the rough edges, I gave up. It's hard to pay attention when you play something too many times. I guess this comes from an Anime series called "Ef: A Tale of Melodies". This arrangement was based on a violin/piano version that is impossible to improve on even with a guitar. I don't know where this tune comes from or whether Mai Goto is the actual composer, but hopefully someone will correct me, if it's wrong. Below is a link to the video that inspired this thing. My take on the song "A Moon Filled Sky" from the anime series ef - a tale of melodies. This song caught my attention throughout the whole series and I wanted to make a guitar rendition of it cause it just sounded so great. I made a couple of small mistakes, like muting a couple notes but that's all.

This is my progress after taking 3 violin lessons. I think that my technique has improved and i'm not making as many problems with squeaking/scratchy sounding bow strokes and intonation. I think I may need to work on relaxing more when playing. I was sight-reading the music while playing. This song is one of the songs that when I first listened to and just wanted to learn to play violin. So I never though I'd be playing it after only 3 lessons. I had to transpose it down an octave on the key of D so I only needed to learn 3 new notes to play it on top of the notes in the D scale that I already know. It is a difficult song for me because it uses all the strings, but since it's a slow song it gave me plenty of time to make the note changes. I did still manage to screw up at the end of the video though :( Please comment on it and tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. Thanks for watching. Europa is a satellite of Jupiter, the youngest of the four Galilean satellites. Named after Europe, one of the many conquests of Zeus in Greek mythology.
