Cowboys Star Report - 10.6.2011

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory seemed to be the mantra for Week 4, as the Cowboys lost 34-30 to the now 4-0 Detroit Lions. The guys break down the loss and look at what went wrong. Jeff gets a little emotional calling out head coach, Jason Garret for horrible play calling in the second half. Historic defeats tend to leave historic hard feelings. Steven, on the other hand, is quick to come to the defense of Tony Romo and goes so far as to insist that he would take Romo ANY DAY over any QB in the NFL (with 3 exceptions). For everyone saying it is time to change QBs, especially Deion Sanders, Steven wants to know whom you would rather have throwing the rock. Aside from Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and a healthy Peyton Manning, Steven likes Tony. He points to Romo's numbers and notes that they are up there with the best. People tend to forget that although Romo is in his 9th season in the league, this is early in his 5th season as a starter. New Harris Poll rankings are out and they deliver the same old results. America's Team still wears a Star and plays in the Cathedral in Arlington. Yes, the Dallas Cowboys remain atop the Harris Poll as the most popular football team in America. Jeff thinks it is time for a change and Steven... well you know what he thinks. The guys talk about how the Cowboys can get healthy during their Week 5 Bye Week. Jeff asks if the Cowboys need the bye more than the Ravens, Browns, Dolphins, Rams or Redskins. Steven reminds us that Bill ...

Packers Final Stop Against The Steelers In The Super Bowl...According To Tecmo

The Green Bay Packers forced 3 turnovers off of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl 45, but the Steelers weren't dead yet. With 56 seconds left, it was 4th and 5, the Packers holding a 6 point lead. The Packers defense came through once again, a solid play by Tramon Williams helped disrupt Mike Wallace, forcing an incompletion, and giving the Packers the Super Bowl win. Here is what that play would have looked like according to Tecmo Super Bowl. The Packers radio crew have the call. Figured I'd do another Super Bowl play, since it's I guess a tradition now. There wasn't really "That Play" like their was the last 3 years, but here you go. Congrats to the Packers and their fans, hopefully we have a season next year so they can try to defend that gold. Also, the poll of the day, which was the biggest fail of the night? Christina Aguilera's botching of the anthem, the Black Eyed Peas general awfulness, or that field goal by Shaun Suisham? Yikes. To download the game, go here: knobbe.org This is the rom, which is the game itself. You need an emulator (the "system") to run it. Seach for ZSNES or SNES9x and download that as well.

Fantasy Football Buddies - 10.4.2011

The guys give their fantasy football musings from the 1/4 poll off the season and ask, who would have thunk it? CJ2K would SUCK. Darren McFadden and Matt Forte would be your leading backs? Wes Welker would have 20 points more than the next best WR? Tom Brady's MVP season would be followed up by an even better season? Aaron Rodgers Super Bowl MVP would hang-over in a good way? 100 points no longer gives you a good chance of winning? In the Hot Waiver Wire Pick-ups for Week 5, the guys still like Titans QB, Matt Hasselbeck (74%). He is the 8th ranked QB at 22 PPW. Redskins RB, Jabar Gaffney (94%) is averaging 8 PPW and might throw a TD pass. 49er, Josh Morgan (99.8%) is seeing consistent targets and with Alex Smith not favoring the constantly double-teamed Michael Crabtree he is looking very good. Staying with RBs, Patriots, Stevan Ridley (97%) is seeing an increase coinciding with the decrease of the Law Firm. Redskins, Ryan Torain (60%) is getting lots of carries at the expense of Tim Hightower and Roy Helu. And finally as a bonus Steelers RB, Isaac Redman (98%) is seeing a big increase due to injuries to Reshard Mendenhall. At TE, we like Browns, Benjamin Watson (92%) who's averaging 8 PPW with targets going up. In Fantasy Football for James, we look at bye weeks. New players must understand that they happen every year and that they should have planned ahead. Never leave a roster spot open and be prepared to settle for less points if you have not done your homework.
