We are singing Kaipaava (The Longing One), by Essi Wuorela and Jussi Chydenius as performed by Rajaton and recorded on their 2001 album Boundless. It is a Finnish folk song, with text taken from the Kanteletar. We sang the 6 parts a cappella (with no instruments), and recorded the videos. Sorry if our Finnish isn't great - we don't speak it. (this version is a re-upload: I fixed the low volume problem on the original video). The Creole Love Call is a jazz standard recorded by Duke Ellington in 1927. This is a version arranged by the Comedian Harmonists, an internationally famous, all-male German close harmony ensemble that performed between 1927 and 1934 as one of the most successful musical groups in Europe before World War II. The original score requires a piano, so I had to change a few spots in the score. I also shortened it, because of the difficulty. I hope you'll enjoy! We're singing Armottoman Osa (Plight of the Unloved One), by Mia Makaroff (also the composer of Butterfly), as performed by Rajaton and recorded on their 1999 album Nova. It's a Finnish folk song, and we sang the 6 parts a cappella (with no instruments). This time I decided to get rid of the cheesy inter-video interactions in favour of marginally-less-cheesy expressions that reflect the music. The song is hectic enough as Rajaton does it, but we actually sped it up quite a bit, so the pace is frantic. And I apologize if our Finnish isn't great - we don't speak it. I'm singing Läksin minä kesäyönä käymään (The Weeper on the Shore), arranged by Jussi Chydenius (Rajaton's Bass), as performed by Rajaton and recorded on their 1999 album Nova. It's a Finnish folk song, and I sang all 6 parts a cappella (with no instruments). For this video I actually doubled some of the parts to give it a more choral feel. This is my personal favourite of all Rajaton's songs, mostly because of the AMAZING ENDING. My next video will probably be an original song.
