
Jasna Veljanovic-Rankovic was born in January 13th 1980 in Fulda (Germany). She received her primary and secondary schooling (piano and theory) in Kragujevac (Serbia). She graduated from the Ukranian National Music Academy PITchaikovsky, Department of Composition, in 2003, in class of Genadiy Lyashenko. Her graduated work Concerto for Piano and Orchestra was performed by the Simphony Orchestra of the Ukranian Broadcasting Company. She took her master's degree in Faculty of Music in Belgrade (Serbia) in the class of Vlastimir Trajković, with the composition titled Five Songs for Mezzo-soprano and Orchestra on the Verses of Aleksander Blok. Jasna Veljanović-Ranković composer's opus include works for solo instruments, chamber ensembles and symphony orchestra. Lately, her preoccupation are the specific chamber ensambles (Duel and Romance for Flute and Accordion, Interrupted Passacaglia for Flute, Oboe, Cello and Accordion, A Dream Within a Dream for Soprano and Flute, Restless Thoughts at Night for Flute, Oboe, Saxophone and Cello). This piece was performed by Marina Nenadovic, flute, Bojan Pesic, oboe, Zoran Bozanic, accordion and Nebojsa Mrdjenovic, cello.
