(September 17th 2011 - Lima, Perú) Auditorio del Pentagonito. The FIRST and ONLY TIME these four greats of Jazz music have ever played together. This is a recent Arturo Sandoval composition, dedicated to his greatest influence and mentor: the jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie (October 21, 1917 -- January 6, 1993). This Cool Jazz piece showcase Arturo as a singer, with a brief trumpet solo, inspired by Dizzy's soloing style, at around the middle. Back in the Fidel Castro-ruled Cuba of the 80's, Arturo Sandoval met his biggest influence and idol, Dizzy Gillespie, who, amazed by Arturo's undeniable talent as a trumpeter, took him under his wing and help him leave Cuba. Until this day, Arturo has in very high regard Dizzy's memory, both for his great talent as much as for his friendship.
