Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise (No Summons)

Pretty simple walkthrough on how to kill an Adamantoise in Final Fantasy XIII without using the cheap summon/death method. This is one of the most efficient ways to get gil since they drop platinum ingots and trapzeohedrons. The main thing you are going to need are Genji Gloves on Fang, and have her Commando role leveled to 5 but it helps tremendously if you have all of your base jobs leveled to 5, in this walkthrough howevver, Fangs Sentinel role is only role level 4. To get this to work you will need 2 good ravagers on your team, I use Hope and Vanille because the main roles you will need are the ones they already specialize in. You are going to setup your paradigms as follows, Relentless Assault Com/Rav/Rav Combat Clinic - Sent/Med/Med Esponionage - Sab/Sab/Syn You are going to start out and wait for the first stomp with combat clinic as your starting paradigm. Once he stomps your team should heal you almost immediately, that is when you switch to Relentless assault and attack the first leg. I use Ruin to attack the leg with Fang because it decreases the chance of getting stepped on which is pretty much an instant death. When you see the Adamantoise raise its leg to use stomp switch to combat clinic and wait until it does. Your party should heal you almost immediately and you can switch back to Relentless Assault. Repeat this process until the leg is staggered and get its stagger gauge to around 500% then use Highwind. It will immediately knock out the leg. Repeat this ...

Final Fantasy XIII - Efficient Adamantoise Farming Part 1 (early stages)

I've seen/heard a lot of people talk about how much they grinded in this game on these adamantoise's with a lot of people saying they had to do so much their game time ended up being 80 or even 100+ hours, so I'm showing the methods I used to get to the point I'm at (nearly done everything). Notice that I'm under 45 hours of game time and my crystarium is maxed, I'm sitting on 4 million gil (and I've spent over a million towards the treasure hunter trophy which I almost have), and I had 6 traps by the time I had maxed my crystarium. This first method is the way I farmed these in the beginning, I was able to do this method literally as soon as I reached this spot in chapter 12, though I would recommend waiting until after post game and you should definitely be able to start doing this immediately then. Really all that you need for this method is the high power weapons for Sahz (found at the end of ch. 11 in Oerba) upgraded to tier 2 and close to max level, which isn't very expensive to do, and some power gloves, all of which can be gotten with money made from rewards for a sidequest you finish at the end of ch. 11. The guns for Sahz reduce his HP, but it's not an issue for this since you'll be using summon to down the toise each time. I suggest having just the connoisseur catalog equipped on someone while doing this to try and get as many traps as possible, it's what I did and I had 6 by the time I finished. The other two characters you use aren't really as important ...

Suggest you do this after you beat the game since that will unlock crystarium level 10 (more stats) My party is Fang, Lighting, and Vanille but you can swap by preference. I would recommend each party member have at least 14k health, Genji gloves for Fang, and most crystal trees nearly maxed out (kinda have to be to have that much HP anyway). I have 3rd tier weapons for Fang and Lightning (upgraded Dragoon Lance and Lionheart) but I've done it with the 2nd tier ones. For Vanille I'm using the Malboro Staff for debuff effectiveness (2nd tier). You want a lot of attack power with 2 of your members, and a lot of magic with the other (for healing). All must have ravager available. The healer must have saboteur while the other 2 should have commando and either synergist or saboteur Start off with Synergist Synergist Medic to get and do the cast order shown in the video (fang has bravera/protect, other two have protect(ra)/faith(ra), everyone has haste) Switch to Ravager Ravager Medic and blast one of the legs until it breaks. If you do not have Dragoon Lance/Dragonhorn and do not want to spend time or money to get it, Bladed Lance/Glaive will work fine. Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise Stage 1 (low-spec, summon)

Low-spec Adamantoise battle for those interested in early farming. Only equipment required is a pair of maxed Hyades Magnums (Tier 2 Pleiades Hi-Powers, which are found in Oerba). I have a Genji Glove equipped but it's not at all necessary and has no effect on the fight. Done at non-maxed Crystarium Lv 9 (note the low HP totals), with a pinch of SAB for Sazh (so he can Deprotect and Deshell early). Don't use Cold Blood to chain like I did. Just use normal RAV attacks. Party Sazh/Lightning/Fang (can use Snow instead of Lightning) Paradigms SYN/COM/SAB SAB/RAV/SAB RAV/RAV/SAB x2 (use shift recharge/ATB refresh) COM/COM/COM x2 If you want to play it safe, summon immediately instead of doing one round of SYN like I did (but you can see that I messed up and went into the shift menu instead of Techniques... normally one round of SYN shouldn't be cutting it that close). You can also use COM/COM/SAB instead of COM/COM/COM (have Fang keep sticking Daze, which will increase your damage), but make sure you time your Blitzes with the Dazes. Final Fantasy XIII - Efficient Adamantoise Farming Part 2 (later stages)

This is an extremely efficient method of farming the adamantoise, the goal is to use the Sahz method from part 1 until you get strong enough to do this method, which shouldn't take long. You need at least 1 genji glove to do it this way, though I would suggest having 2 to make it easier. As such, you probably won't be doing it this way until you've nearly or completely maxed your crystarium The great thing about this is that you can do it this quickly only using maxed tier 2 weapons, which at this point are easy to make and you won't have to spend much, and you don't have to use a trap to upgrade them to ultimate weapons in case these aren't the weapons you would prefer to make into ultimates for these characters. Note however that upgrading them to tier 3 will make this go faster and easier. You can see in the video all the paradigms and gear used, and you pretty much need to have it set up that way. It's important to have the gaian rings on Fang and Lightning to be able to survive a couple of stomps before you take out the legs, Snow will have enough HP to be fine. Gaian rings are the last upgraded version of clay rings, you'll find a clay ring and an earth charm on Pulse. Star the earth charm and dismantle it for your second clay ring, then upgrade both to their end form. Using this method I managed to make about 1 million gil from ingots in less than half an hour. I don't claim to have created either of these methods, I stumbled on to them both myself before finding ...

This is the most "fast/easy-way" to kill Adamantoise. Which you will can get gils/cp/trapezohedron fast. I reccomend have a full crystarium party members, full weapons lvl 100 (you will only need around 1,5kk/1.500.000 GILS) and full accesories upgraded. And remember this thing: NEVER buy Trapezohedrons in the shop (Square Enix designers will scam to you if you buy it). I always get 1 (2 with lucky) Trapezohedrons for kill 10 Adamantoise. And i usually get 2 Platinum Ingots (the most important thing in the game) for 6 kills of Adamantoise. In a hour i can get around 2,1kk (2.100.000 GILS), not bad for the Treasure Hunter achievement/trophy.

Final Fantasy XIII - How To Kill An Adamantoise Quickly & Easily - Ultimate Grinding Spot

~How To Kill An Adamantoise Quickly & Easily~ --------------------------------- From Chapter 12 Onwards, it is possible to kill these Adamantoises in minimal time. But first, you need Vanille's "Death" ability, found in stage 9 of her Saboteur Crystarium. Steps: 1. Set up the Paradigm "Espionage" (Saboteur + Saboteur + Synergist) and set Vanille as party leader. 2. Equip Vanille with either the Belladonna Wand (For "Improved Debuffing"), Malboro Wand or Nirvana (For "Improved Debuffing II"). 3. Equip other characters with items that either boost drops, ATB, or whatever, they are merely supporting roles and will not be doing much attacking. 4. Make sure to have AT LEAST 3 TP, this is to ensure that when you begin the battle, you can take out the legs making it useless. 5. Head to the Leviathan's Plaza in Eden to find the Adamantoise. 6. Head into battle, either let your Synergist boost you with haste before getting hit, or just Summon your Eidolon. 7. Quickly go into Gestalt Mode, hit Triangle / Y to use Gaian Salvo and exit the Gestalt Mode. 8. Spam Death like there is no tomorrow. This is purely luck based and could take several attempts to kill it. --------------------------------- Tips: Maxing out Vanille's Saboteur Crystarium will enable you to increase the chance of Death actually working. If you fail, just pause, hit Select / Back, and select retry. The Platinum Ingot it drops is worth 150000 gil, so make sure to sell it straight away for items or upgrading weapons ...

imo the quickest way for killing adamantoises WITH a summon... you can see TP is replenished fairly quick, in the end, it's running to the tortoises that probably takes up most of the time. after you kill 2, just go to the nearby save point (near the dogs), save and reload. if you do this correct, the whole cycle of killing 2 adamantoises, replenishing TP and saving/reloading to respawn the tortoises should only take a little bit longer then 10 minutes. paradigms used: COM/RAV/RAV SAB/COM/RAV COM/COM/COM SYN/COM/RAV

Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise Stage 3 (17500 HP, no summon/shrouds)

The next stage of farming; a sequel to my previous video. This method requires a bit more HP. I have a maxed ultimate weapon on Fang for the stats, but it's not necessary at all. This is doable with maxed Tier 2 weapons, but you need at least ~2400 Strength to be able to Highwind a leg right after stagger. If you're having trouble getting Fang's Strength high enough to Highwind the legs quickly post-stagger, you may want to consult my Stage 2.5 video instead: www.youtube.com Having more ultimate weapons only speeds this up because your party synchronization in taking out the legs will be much better. You'll want to take out both legs before the fourth stomp. If you don't, you may mess up the timing with Highwind on the right leg, or in the worst case, you might actually die (not really an issue with a bit more HP). In this video, he got off the fourth stomp after I dropped the second leg, a case of one of those weird ATB hitches where he gets a move off even after you take out both legs. I wouldn't have been in the red if that hadn't happened. Again, with a bit more HP, this won't be a problem at all. My best battle time at these stats was 1 min 28 sec. It depends largely on how you coordinate Vanille and Snow in staggering the legs. This strategy should suffice for pretty much as long as you need to farm. There are better optimization techniques once you are completely maxed (namely using Lightning instead of Vanille), but they're not really necessary.

Final Fantasy 13 Quick CP Adamantoise farming.

This is a guide on how to get lots of CP quickly. This area is on Eden and it is called the Leviathan Plaza. This can be done once you beat the game as the Adamantoise will still be patrolling the area. I came here after the Long Gui infestation on Grand Pulse to get some more CP. If you are on Gran Pulse, you can take the portal at the base camp back to Orphan's Cradle, and the portal across the way back to Eden. Backtrack a little till u see the Adamantoise. There is a save station nearby to sell the items he drops. The arrangement I used for the fight was: Vanille/Sazh/Fang 1. SAB/SYN/SAB 2. SAB/SAB/SAB Make sure u have one of Vanilles de-buffing staffs. I used Malboro wand for this fight. Also Connoisseur catalog, Collectors Catalog, Speed Sash, and Growth Egg should be equipped to maximize your CP and item rewards. Also Speed sash is for getting your TP back up so you can fight the Adamantiose again with the help of Vanilles Eidolon. Make sure Paradigm (pronounced Para-dime) 1 is active and you are controlling Vanille. When the battle starts bust out your Eidolon and go into gestalt mode. Once you hop on the eidolon, use its ultimate attack. Once Sazh and Fang jump back in the battle, the poor Adamantoise should be lying on his face. Start casting Death while Fang pummels him with de-buffs. Wait for Sazh to buff the 3 members with haste. This is his go-to move and he should have the party buffed in a few seconds. This strategy requires you to practically be done with the Crystarium (meaning everyone is level 5 in all roles) and you must have Tier 2 weapons equipped along with very high strength and magic boosting accessories. You also need the Genji Gloves (breaks damage limit) , and I recommend equipping a Collector's Catalogue to increase the chances of obtaining Platinum Ingots. Make sure Fang has the Genji Gloves equipped or else you won't kill the legs in one hit. Have the party consisting of Fang, Hope, and Vanille and have these Paradigms: Rapid Growth (SYN/SYN/SYN) Tri-disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV) Discretion (COM/MED/MED) Assassination (SAB/RAV/SAB) Cerberus (COM/COM/COM) When the battle begins, manually caste Bravera and Faithra on the party. When this is done, switch to Tri-disaster and stagger one of the legs. When its staggered, get its stagger percentage above 450% and then switch to Discretion. Use Highwind, which will KO the leg, and then switch back to Tri-disaster and do the same thing with the other leg. When the Adamantoise falls over, switch to Assassination and caste Slow and Imperil while Vanille will cast Deprotect and Deshell. When this is done switch to Tri-disaster and stagger the Adamantoise. Stay with this Paradigm until his stagger percentage is above 900%; getting it to 999% would be much better but anything above 900% is good enough. Now switch to Cerberus and kill the Adamantoise. No death. No shrouds. No summons. No showing off. There are too many videos on Youtube showing how you can beat the Adamantoise in less than 3 minutes with overpowered characters and weapons. Here I will actually explain to you how you can effectively take out the legs as quickly as possible, while mainly focusing on defense. Because my stats are high and I'm already in Crystarium Stage 10, I've equipped myself with the crappiest unupgraded weapons I have on hand. This strategy is one I came up with myself, without the help of any guides. So please excuse me if some of the choices I made seem foolish in the eyes of elite players. Requirements: 1) You beat the game. 2) You can survive a stomp attack or two. 3) Level 5 sentinel & saboteur on Fang. 4) Level 5 synergist on Hope or maybe Sazh 2) Level 5 ravager & commando on at least 2 characters. Recommended: 1) Level 5 ravager & commando on all characters. 2) Accessories to reduce earth damage. 3) Accessories to reduce the chance of stop. 3) Quick Stagger Paradigm: Fang/Hope/Lightning RAv/RAv/RAv SEN/SYN/MED (Default) SEN/MED/MED SAB/RAV/COM COM/COM/COM !!!IMPORTANT!!! Once the leg is staggered, pay close attention to the chain gauge. Most people will NOT be able to take out the leg until the chain gauge reaches a certain amount. The higher the chain gauge, the higher damage you will be able to inflict. For me, it is about 600%, but it will vary depending on your stats. FFXIII - Adamantoise (Eden - Leviathan Plaza, no Death)

Adamantoise is known as one of the hardest encounters in the game. They're well known under the more experienced players for dropping Platinum Ingots and Trapezohedrons. This is me fighting the Adamantoise at Eden, Leviathan Plaza, without using death. I have mastered almost all roles for all characters and have Lightning's ultimate weapon, Omega Weapon. It has Quick Stagger because it transformed from Lionheart - Ultima Weapon. I also use Genji Glove to break the damage cap to 999999 (Although I don't have enough strength yet), Growth Egg (double CP, reward for mission 55), Connoisseur Catalog (Upgraded Collector's Catalog) and Tetradic Tiara. The key to winning without using Death (which most players use) is debuffing the Adamantoise and staggering him ASAP. The easiest way to take out his legs is by summoning whichever Eidolon you want. When he's down, debuff him and then switch to Ravager to raise the stagger gauge. After that just use commandos and he should go down if you have enough strength. There is a VERY low drop rate for the Trapezohedron, so make sure you equip the Connoisseur Catalog to increase the chance.

Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise at minimum "fast farming" specs

Those looking for safe, consistent farming techniques can use my Stage videos. For those curious to see how the strategies shown in those videos can be optimized to discover the statistical threshold at which "fast farming" is possible, I give you this video. I define the conditions for "fast farming" to be: - Must have Growth Egg, Collector Catalog, Connoisseur Catalog equipped - Must be able to Highwind both legs successively - Must, for consistency's sake, be able to survive 2 stomps (which is the worst-case scenario), so 13500-14000 HP for all characters is the lower limit. I wanted to show this, but he was too slow on this run, so you can just take my word for it. - Assume only 2 hits for the final Highwind This method is more or less foolproof if you take a few precautions. 1. Never let a stomp interrupt your first turn (Bravera/Haste). If you see a leg being raised, wait it out before confirming selection. 2. Use Discretion - COM/MED/MED - instead of Diversity (meaning you will delay staggering the right leg for a couple of seconds). 3. Make absolutely sure that you don't Highwind a leg as it's going up or get stomped on right after Fang comes down. Beyond that, Fang needs around 2300 Strength. You really can't push it much lower or Highwind won't 1HKO a leg. The other stats for Vanille and Snow don't matter as long as you ensure that they stick to casting (which is why I had to upgrade their weapons as I did). The second Tri-disaster isn't necessary. How To Farm Adamantoise, Alternative Style

This is the alternative farming style (where Fangs summon or Vanilles death trick might strike you as the most used ones). The party is just an example as you could use Fang instead of Vanille and someone with com and rav instead of Lightning. The important part in this guide is that Sazh is your leader. This tactic can be used very early, and it is somewhat possible even before endgame (when you first arrive at Eden plaza). If you cannot manage to beat the Adamantoise using this tactic you either lack strength/magic or aren't quick enough with the commands (yes the Adamantoise usually arise on/after the 6 blitz). Also the debuffs are VERY important as the chain builds more quickly if they are applied (they are a must. In those rare cases Vanille fail debuffing quickly you should have a small window to wait a few seconds before switching paradigm. However if Vanille needs more than a few seconds after sash have applied the primary buffs on your party you are boned. This is the reason I urge you to upgrade Vanilles Malboro Wand as soon as you are able (just upgrade it to Nirvana, there's no need for levels on the weapon once it's a Nirvana). This helps Vanille get her last ATB bar which can help a lot. Deshell or imperil doesn't help with the deathtrick btw (and this metod is way faster, in my opinion and experience, and constant). If you still cannot manage to kill the Adamantoise this way then don't dismiss your summon Brynhildir, instead use Sazh as rav to build a high ...

Final Fantasy XIII (13) - Adamantoise Trapezohedron Farming

I don't claim that this is the best method or the fastest, but it is a method I found and liked so it's one I stuck with with. Here's the setup: Lightning, Vanille, Sazh (The characters don't even matter, I use these three because I like them. More powerful characters like Fang would probably make this faster) Paradigms: Sab/Sab/Sab Rav/Rav/Rav Com/Com/Com You must have at least 3TP to summon, since for some reason summoning eidolons makes them fall over oo but yeah the rest is easy as shown :) Platinum ingots sell for 150k each so if you get one, keep it but if you get nothing (like the second fight) just go back to the main menu and load your game and fight it again :) Keep going until you get all the Trapezohedrons you need!

Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise low level kill only 14k hp

Finally, a real low level Adamantoise kill without the death spam, instant stagger, summons and other BS you see associated with low level kills. I only have the 3 primaries maxed and and mediocre (at best) equipment. T2 weapons, low level accessories, no genji glove or anything like that. True low level kill. The only items that are absolutely required is 3 gaian rings maxed out. You can start farming for traps and ingots very early with this method although if you want to gil or cp farm early it's probably more effect to use my other guide for that. Before you spam my inbox or comments, yes I know you can kill Adamantoise in under 2 mins with random procs (death instant stagger, etc), highwind, or maxed out crystarium with T3, but this is a low level guide without needing to max out fang (mine isnt, i dont use fang and dont even have highwind) for a guaranteed kill. *Notes: 1. For this method to be effective, you need to be able to survive 2 stomps without being healed for buffs. Or you can pop shrouds. 2. Use ruin or another ranged dps when you can so you don't get double damage from stomp 3. The sen/sen/sen paradigm is required if you can't kill him before he gets up (likely if you're low leveled or using highwind). Do not switch from it until he uses roar. Sometimes it's immediately and sometimes its after a few stomps. 4. You may get randomed out by Roar before you even knock him down for the first time. You can either retry or try to ume it with sen/sen/sen.

Final Fantasy XIII - Gil farming. Adamantoise (Platinum Ingot/Trapezohedron)

This is my way for money in FF XIII. When i was weaker I was using Vanille as my lider, Eidolon to cut hes legs and Death. When it didn't kill him and he got up I just made that fight again. When I didn't drop anything I was loading the game (TP - Technical Points) but when I got smth I was saving then charging TP on the monsters around. Now since I can kill Long Gui without using shrouds I do it like on this video. Dont forget about Collector Catalog for Platinum Ingot and Connoisseur Catalog for Trapezohedron. When I have at least 3TP I use Eidolon (1 min fight) when I drop smth I save the game but when I don't I just load the game so I wont waste the TP Platinum Ingot - you can sell for 150.000 Trapezohedron - worth 2.000.000 in shop so better to drop one ;) It's also a good way for CP

Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise Stage 2.5 (15000 HP, T2 weapons, no summons/shrouds)

If you are very familiar with Adamantoise's patterns, you can completely bypass Stage 2 if you want (this method being much faster) and aim for just a bit more HP to get to this stage. Also, you can use this method in lieu of the Stage 3 method if you are having trouble bumping up Fang's Strength high enough to Highwind the legs quickly (and don't have or want to spend the money and materials to upgrade a Tier 3 weapon). Done with a Bladed Lance/Glaive to show the general irrelevance of weapons, but I do NOT recommend Taming Pole/Venus Gospel. Stagger Lock is an absolute no-no. The only differences between this and Stage 3 in terms of protocol: - Fang has Power Glove x2 instead of Sprint Shoes + Morale Talisman - One turn of Espionage inserted at the start of battle to get Bravera + Haste on Fang. Caveat: - If he manages to get in his first stomp with the RIGHT leg before Fang can buff herself on the first turn, you may want to retry. This is because you'll be set to Highwind the right leg just as he raises it again, which is problematic. UPDATE: I recommend this Paradigm deck for easy navigation. 1. SYN/COM/RAV (Vanille as COM) 2. RAV/RAV/RAV 3. COM/MED/MED 4. SYN/SAB/SAB 5. RAV/RAV/RAV 6. COM/COM/SAB Progression is 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6. Simple, no?

Final Fantasy XIII Adamantoise Farming the Easy Way (HD 1080p)

This is a video to show a quick way to kill the adamantoise using the death spell efficiently with the highest possible chance of success. Available in full HD 1080p. I farm in Eden Hall since it is the only Adamantoise available once you do a certain mission. All the ones on the Steppe become upgraded and they are immune to Death. The beginning shows the 3 people I use along with what they have equipped. The earth resistance ring upgraded helps a lot for the stomps while the upgraded daze resistance helps if it casts roar while it is standing up. I start with Vanille as SAB with 2 buffers to get haste and protect on at least while I try to kill it with Death with a small chance of success. After you can't stand another stomp, use the summon and skip through it as quickly as possible by pressing Square, skip cutscene, Triangle and wait for everyone to come back. Have all 3 on SAB to debuff it as quickly as you can. The more debuffs on it, the better the odds of death working. I didn't believe it until I tried it and it dies much faster all the time. Once at least 5 debuffs are on, Vanille starts saying "No one's getting hurt this time". I think this is a clue that the odds have increased quite a bit on Death. You have time to get about 4 or 5 Death casts in before it stands up. Once it gets up, only Curse will stick so your chances will get lower again. You can wait it out using a SEN to absorb damage while you have one MED and Vanille continues spamming Death. Change to ...

Farming Adamantoise in Final Fantasy 13

I used the strategy given by Arthellinus in Gamefaqs with some changes of my own. It can be found in section 05b Here is the link to his post content FAQ www.gamefaqs.com This is a way to farm adamantoise after you beat the game. This is efficient for getting lots of CP, gaining lots of money, and gaining Trapezohedron. You'lll want to head toward Eden-Leviathan Area for you to get started.

Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise Stage 4 (post-postgame)

Fang/Lightning/Snow is a popular farming party but I haven't made a video for them before this one. Use this method when you're done with your Platinum Trophy and want to go even further (eg get more money to max more weapons) or if you have extra Trapezohedrons lying around. I did mention in Stage 3 that things speed up once you have Tier 3 weapons for everyone, and here I do have them for everyone, but notice that Lightning's and Snow's are completely untouched beyond simply getting them to Tier 3. Their stats don't matter. Note the half-round of attacks after downing both legs to avoid the fall damage. This keeps Fang in the green and activates Adrenaline, which provides a nice damage boost. This is a slightly slower variation on a speed kill setup (sub-1:00), but because this is a farming technique, I would be remiss not to provide a more consistent approach. Virtually guaranteed sub-1:20 times aren't too bad. From this, the ability to give Fang two Kaiser Knuckles boosts her damage output even further. This means you can have some fun with this if you are a fan of absurdly powerful Highwinds. Instead of COM/COM/SAB, use COM/RAV/SAB. You'll raise the gauge to 950+% for your Highwind and leave the 'toise with enough HP to actually take the increased damage (you can easily do 2.5-3 million if all four hits connect).

FInal Fantasy 13 Adamantoise - Easy with Summon

Easily defeat Adamantoise with Summon but No shrouds. Farm Trapezohedron and Platinum Ingot. Using this method you can quickly defeat Adamantoise then refill your TP points with very fast post-fight battles and respawn Adamantoise. If you are going for the Treasure Hunter trophy you need 10 platinum ingot's for each characters Ultimate weapon (or raise 1.5 million gil) If you equip a Collectors Catalog you should get 1 Platinum Ingot every-other battle. So figure you may need to fight him 20 times for each of the 6 Ultimate weapons you need for the Treasure hunter Trophy. You may need to fight him over 120 times! This is a good mindless method of beating him every time. If you prefer to not use summon see my other video (Beating Adamantoise with no Summon)

Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise ( No Summons) Part 2

Altered my strategy and upgraded my weapons a bit. If you still think that running around building TP for summons is more efficient after this then I don't know what to say. (Just a tip for those of you are looking for ways to make gil, after you have mastered killing Adamantoises do mission 63 which is located in Ceiling of Sky. It will add another Adamantortoise in the Steppe giving you 5 chances for Platinum Ingots, and even if you don't get anything to drop, after completing the mission you will get a gold nugget which can be sold for 60k after you beat it for the first time)

Final Fantasy XIII - Adamantoise (8000 HP, no TP/shrouds)

I have not touched Stage 10 of the Crystarium. Essentially, this is a pre-postgame farming method. This is comparable to Stage 2 (probably faster) and can be done with obviously much lower stats. Just be careful using Taming Pole/Venus Gospel. If you stop Snow's SAB progression before he learns Slow, then he won't be able to waste time bothering with it. One less thing to worry about in terms of getting him to spam Daze. This is really risky if the first stomp comes before Fang's first turn (Bravera/Haste). Retry if that happens.
