Puretch Photopolymer Solar Exposure with Space Bag for Photo Etching Demo #3

Puretch photopolymer high resolution etching resist for fine art photo etching and photo circuit boards, PCB. This DIY video will show you how to use a Stouffer step guide to determine solar exposure with Puretch photopolymer. A clear mylar Space Bag® will be used for the contact frame. They are very affordable and widely available. Exposure is for 8-20 seconds directly facing sun. I am using 4 stouffer guides for this test but you can do the same with one, the guide just has to be moved over for each exposure, redoing the vacuum each exposure. I also use a metronome set on 60 BPM as an audible timer for tests like this. If you will only be using solar to make plates, you should do mid-day tests at each solstice and equinox as a guide for your location. Note: a professional UV exposing unit and vacuum frame is recommended for very fine halftone work as there is a slight loss of details in the highlights with the space bag. The space bag is ideal for coarser bitmaps, line work or circuit designs. Use all materials at your own risk. capefearpress.com ©2009

This video shows the "Direct to Air" Solar Heater Installation to capture Free Heat from the Sun. This system is an environmentally sustainable green heating solution that will lessen our dependence on fossil fuels and significantly reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. For anyone concerned about the environment or if you just want to save money on your heating bills. This is the "Free Fuel" heater - the cost of sunlight never goes up! Once you own the unit, the fuel is free. The system will last for decades providing free heat and environmental benefits. Regardless of what you call the system - solar panels, solar collectors, solar heaters or my favorite - the "Free Heat" Machine, you'll have to agree that the planet needs these systems if we're ever going to wean ourselves from fuels like natural gas, propane, heating oil, diesel and other fossil or carbon-based fuels. This system may not be the total solution, but it's a step in the right direction. It's affordable and compares to a high efficiency gas furnace in return on investment. That's right solar heat is now also affordable heats and easily compares to the fossil fuels - even the "cheapest" fossil fuel right now - natural gas. The only difference is that with this solar heater, the price of your fuel never goes up. Solar heating has never been more affordable. Check out the video! Reduce your environmental footprint and go green!

Made in Germany | Solar Technology as an Export Hit

The price of a barrel of Brent Crude oil from the North Sea has risen by 50 percent this year. That in turn raises the price of driving a car - and of manufacturing. So solar power is becoming relatively affordable. German solar technology firms quintupled their sales abroad in the last three years, for an industry total of a billion euros in 2006. German photovoltaic companies have their eye on the European domestic market. But they are also rapidly expanding in the United States and Asia. The Solar Economy Association expects the photovoltaic market to expand by 20 percent a year for the next 15 years, creating many jobs in Germany. Klaus Enderle visited Solon, a photovoltaic company in Berlin that will be opening new production facilities next year. In Cooperation with the Handelsblatt.

Internet Video Camera - Install Floodlight to Convert Webcam into a Security Guard!

www.offsitecommander.com A web camera is a video camera that feeds its images in real time to a computer or computer network, via various connection devices. Their widest purpose is the administration of video links, permitting local or remote PC's to serve as Digital Video Recorder (DVR), or more accurately, Network Video Recorder (NVR) stations. This common use is reason why the Internet camera received its alias "webcam". Webcams by common knowledge are built in with a lens, an light detector, and some support electronics. Various lenses are available, the most common in consumer-grade Internet cameras being lens made up of plastic that can be screwed inward and outward to set the camera's default focus. Fixed focus lenses, which have no space for alteration, are also out in the market. As a camera's depth of coverage is greater for small image formats and is grander for lenses bearing a large f-number (small aperture), the systems used in webcams have adequate large depth of coverage that the use of a fixed focus lens does not bear upon image sharpness much. Image sensing devices can be CCD or CMOS, with CMOS being prevalent for affordable cameras, but CCD cameras don't necessarily surpass CMOS-supported cameras in the inexpensive price range. Most consumer-grade webcams are capable of providing VGA-resolution video at a good rate (about 30 frames a second). Many newer devices can create video in large-pixel resolutions. Homemade Wind Turbines - Why Should You Make Your Own Wind Turbine?

www.WindEnergyGuide.net - Homemade wind turbines - Why Should You Make Your Own wind turbines? Building your own wind turbines is a great way to protect the environment and slash your monthly electricity bill. Contrary to common perception, making wind turbines is very easy and doesn't require any special skills. The materials you are going to need are metal scissors, sandpaper, an electrical stove, copper leads, copper flashing sheet, etc. You can find these materials at your local hardware store at a very low price. The benefits of having your own residential solar power: 1. Reduce your electricity bill by more than 80%. 2. Create more energy than you use and get paid by your utility company. 3. Help to fight global warming and protect the environment by reducing your carbon footprint. 4. Stop depending on non-renewable energy resources. You can have your own power source and stop caring about power outages. 5. You can go completely off-grid, not affected in the least by rising energy prices. 6. Get tax credits for using green energy. 7. You can have a lot of fun in the process! To build this system you will need to spend $100 - $200 and you can use it to power any appliance in your home: computer, lights, washing machine, fridge. Compared to the cost of installing a pre-made wind turbine, making your own is much more affordable, considering the fact that a ready made one way cost up to $3000. It would be better to install the system on your roof so that it can absorb ...

Softypapa's New Bicycle - Japanese Mamachari

I'm excited to at last take delivery of my brand new 28 inch Bridgestone Bravestar bicycle (please read below to learn more about mamachari bicycles)! The Bravestar is Bridgestone's extra heavy duty mamachari with thick tubing, reinforced joints and extra strong wheel spokes. The Bravestar is also one of the only Bridgestone mamachari which includes a jumbo 28 inch model (very large by Japanese standards). The bike includes many features such as a three speed integrated gear hub with sealed rear brake. The bicycle's front light is powered by a well designed, low resistance front-hub generator while the rear light includes a solar panel for easy and automatic charging. Both lights come on automatically after the sun goes down though the front light includes a special setting which, when used, will cause the light to stay whenever the bicycle is being ridden. Strong wire baskets at the front and rear provide lots of room for object being moved while the extra strong frame ensures that even a very heavy load may not cause the bike to wobble or become too unsteady. This type of Bicycle is affectionately known in Japan as a "mamachari" and is most popular with homemakers who use the bikes to run errands around town, carry groceries and ferry one or more children to and from kindergarten. Men in Japan also use mamachari though more often these bicycles are used simply as commuter vehicles. I am a great fan of mamachari as these bikes are normally very durable and well designed ...

Man builds stunning 'hobbit house' for just £3000.

A man has built a hillside home reminiscent of a hobbit house from JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings — on a budget of just £3000. Simon Dale constructed the woodland home for his family in Wales, taking only four months to fully complete the project with help from his father-in-law. Built with "maximum regard for the environment" it contains a cosy living room, an open-plan kitchen and a split-level bedroom area. The home is also adorned with fairy lights and wooden furniture to complete the look. These sort of low-cost, natural buildings have a place not only in their own sustainability but also in their potential to provide affordable housing which allows people access to land and the opportunity to lead simple, sustainable lives," he said. Designed to be fully sustainable, the home is heated by a wood burner while solar panels on the roof provide power. It also has water supplied by a nearby spring — completing provider-free utilities. Being your own have-a-go architect is a lot of fun and allows you to create and enjoy something which is part of yourself," said Dale. "Building from natural materials does away with producer's profits and the cocktail of carcinogenic poisons that fill most modern buildings". Dale completed the home while his wife and two children camped in the nearby countryside, moving in after the timber frame and roof had been completed. Despite having no previous experience as a builder or carpenter the ambitious plans came to fruition. This kind of ...

How to Build a Bathroom in About Five Minutes...

About the Music: The music is by Stella Link, one of my long time favorite bands. I once lived two houses up from where the band would practice and I would sit out on my front porch and listen for hours while they held jam sessions and honed their sound. The name of this track is unknown. It was copied from one of the free sample CD's that they would pass out at their shows downtown. Their MySpace page is still active and is checked occasionaly but their website does not seem to be active any longer. CD's can still be purchased online from various vendors. About the Video: Actually, this project took about six months to complete. I was only able to work on it in my free time. This will be an additional bathroom used for the downstairs entertainment room and bar in my home. The video consists of a few thousand pictures, shown for one-tenth of a second each. Every time I watch it, I see something new, including a few friends stopping by, now and then. Pleae forgive me for all of the pictures of my butt, but at least I spared everyone the discomfort of plumber's crack. The camera used was a Nikon CoolPix 8700 digital camera. The video was edited frame by frame using Ulead Video Studio 8. Thank you so much for watching! Please feel free to comment, and subscribe if you are interested. Enjoy! Lowe's Creative Ideas: Building an Outdoor Privacy Screen

Jeni Wright from the Lowe's Creative Ideas team shows how to build privacy screens for your backyard. Download the complete instructions from www.LowesCreativeIdeas.com First, lay out all of your supplies. The screens will be built inside out, so start by building the interior frame. Once the inner frame is built, attach to the outside posts with screws. The posts are just two 2 x 6s with a 2 x 4 in between. Make sure everything is squared up before attaching. Now you can add the rest of the horizontal rails and the metal flashing. Weave the metal flashing (while wearing gloves) and screw them in with sheet metal screws. The last step is to attach the last two 2 x 6 posts. Stain the lumber to your liking. After the building is complete, think about the layout of the screens. Once you have marked the spots for the posts, dig the holes (check with your local utility locating service beforehand). You may want to use an auger to help dig the post holes. Consult with your local building officials to see how deep you can dig. Then, to prep the holes, add some gravel. Now you can place the screens into the post holes and add concrete. Adjust your screens until they are level and the concrete is still setting. Once the concrete has set, you are ready to enjoy your backyard patio screens! 2012 Fisker Karma

Three years and a billion investment dollars after the Fisker Karma rolled forth as a stunning plug-in-hybrid concept, it's finally ready to rock as a stunning production car. All in less time (and for far less money) than GM needed to produce the Chevy Volt. The Karma's recipe calls for sexy design stirred with a heap of sustainability. We had faith in the styling part of the concoction: While growing up in Denmark, Henrik Fisker inherited from his father a deep appreciation for American cars of the Sixties. Upon completing formal design studies, he put his rearing to excellent use. Warming up for the Karma, Fisker designed the BMW Z8 and the Aston Martin DB9 and V-8 Vantage—all of which stand tall next to any Corvette or Eldorado. As for sustainability, in the Karma it means consuming no petroleum for the first 50 miles and interior trim that bows to Mother Nature. Indeed, the very idea of sustainability permeates Fisker's business plan, which is backed by venture capitalists and government agencies. On the heels of the low-volume, $100000 Karma, there will be a more affordable car, the Nina, also built around earth-friendly technology. The hope is that these two plug-in hybrids will give Fisker global reach as a viable carmaking enterprise. The Karma lays a good foundation. Up front there's a 260-hp, GM-supplied four-cylinder engine spinning a mighty generator. Next in line is a 20-kWh, American-made lithium-ion battery pack. Twin AC motors straddling the rear axle ...

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) Delivers Weekly Republican Address On Energy

May 23, 2009 - WASHINGTON, DC - US Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) delivers the weekly republican address on the republican energy plan. Full Text of Senator Barrasso's remarks below. Hi, Im Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming. Many Americans spend their Memorial Day weekend traveling with family to visit relatives and friends. Its a weekend of ceremonies, parades and cookouts. Memorial Day is a time to remember Americas fallen heroes men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and prosperity of our great country. This weekend we pay tribute to their courage. Today Id like to visit with you about the energy we use to power our nation. Republicans support a comprehensive energy plan. A plan that puts Americans to work. A plan that harnesses American resources. You may have heard that Democrats in Washington are looking to limit our countrys energy options. Its true. They want to put a new tax on American energy. A new tax every time you turn on a light switch. American families already spend more than $2000 a year on home energy costs alone. No one wants to pay higher energy costs. We must produce more American energy and use less. We need to make Americas energy as clean as we can, as fast as we can, without raising energy prices for American families. That means developing renewable energy and alternative energy. It means doubling our investment in energy research. It also means responsibly exploring and developing American oil and gas resources, and promoting ...
