Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station review

This is my second YouTube video I belive and my first tech-related review. Though this was released some time in March or May I decided to purchase it this week due to Router failures etc. This is really my first review and it was done in one take so bear with me with the quality and the stuttering :) This is Apple's new AirPort Extreme Base Station with Dual-Band Wireless-N technology. It gives a 2.4ghz and a 5ghz frequency at the same time. This gives an overall speed boos to devices using different network cards, such as an iPhone with a Wireless-G card and a notebook with a Wireless-N card. The Base Station has the following: 3 gigabit Ethernet ports 1 gigabit WAN port 1 USB 2.0 port for Wireless Printing and HD sharing (you must download or reinstall Bonjour if you have Windows for this to work apple.com ) 1 AC Power Port, 1 reset button, and 1 LED activity indicator. This new model has the ability to allow 50 users within it's network. This is perfect for School classes and even huge parties. Inside the box is the Base Station itself, Warranties/etc, Power Adapter, and AirPort Utility installer disc (I believe it's a Mac/PC disc). Among the 50 users, you can make a Guest networking for friends who come over but you don't want to necessarily give him/her access to your printer or AirDisk. Overall this Router has been performing excellent with my devices as of late and I'm very pleased with it, after every few months I'll give updates to state how it is still performing.

Apple Airport Extreme Base Station Unpacking

Airport Extreme Base Station Unpacking & Installing Experience/Advice - I don't go too deep into things, but this is a video I've made of the overall experience I've had from taking delivery to setting my Airport Extreme Base Station (802.11n) up. I was migrating from an old Netgear router (had it about 4/5 years) that kept crashing to the Airport Extreme. Initially I had problems transferring across from the old router - had numerous problems with conflicting IP's. But then I did the wise thing, read the manual, contacted Apple Support (which was fantastic) to get a little bit of extra help, and I was up and running. It made me realise I don't know much about networking but the Utility that comes with the Airport Extreme makes things easier.

AirPort Extreme Base Station (2009 Simultaneous Dual-Band) Unboxing + Initial Setup

The new AirPort Extreme Base Station revision allows the ability to simultaneously broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi bands. It also allows you to create a special guest network for when hosting parties and events around your network. In this video, I show you how fast it is for the router to be setup (without any software CDs, etc). on a MacBook Pro, and to get the network setup and ready to go. I am also following Engadget's guide on having a dedicated router for 2.4GHz (my old Linksys) and a 5GHz for my new AEBS, and can be found here: tinyurl.com Peace, alnandr

(Apple) Apple AirPort Extreme Review: Part 2

*HELLO* - After using the Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station, for quite a while now, I think its fitting for a review to be done. A lot of people wonder about HOW GREAT THE BASE STATION IS. Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station Simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi Unboxing

I shot this a few weeks ago when I picked this up. I have been using this unit since with out any issues. This router was really simple to set up it took 10 minutes max from start to finish. In that time I installed the AirPort Utility software to my PC, hooked the unit up, set up my primary network and the guest network. I went to this from a old Belkin wireless G router that was so slow I could not upload to YouTube using the wireless I could not even attach a pic in an email to send out over wireless with that router. With this new AirPort Extreme I can upload to YouTube and still be online with multiple windows open and running with no issues. This thing is blazing fast compared to the Belkin. I have to say that the Belkin is about 5 years old and was on it last leg but it was never even close to the speed that I am getting now with this AirPort Extreme. This is the new version with the simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi and the guest network. With the guest network option I never have to worry about the iPhone, iPod Touch or visitors slowing my primary (802.11n) network down since I have any other (802.11g) devices set for the guest network. This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good wireless router.

Macworld Expo 2010 Showroom Floor Interview with BearExtender n3 Long Range Mac USB Wifi Adapter

Just $44.97! Reviews: www.tuaw.com www.slashgear.com bearextender.com BearExtender n3 is a USB device that extends the Wi-Fi range of a Mac up to four times. Read reviews, testimonials and user experiences online: bearextender.com BearExtender n3 contains a high power Wi-Fi radio, with a maximum of 700mW output power. That is about ten times more powerful than the Apple branded AirPort card included in your Mac. Combined with an external 2 dBi gain antenna, BearExtender n3 offers up to 2-4 times the range of your current wireless card (approximately 2X for AirPort Extreme and 4X for the original AirPort 11 mbps card). BearExtender n3 is a standalone Wi-Fi adapter and can be used with any Macintosh computer, including those that do not have built-in AirPort cards such as older G3 towers, iMacs and PowerMacs. BearExtender n3 includes a small application that works very similar to the Apple AirPort software which allows you to scan for networks, add favorites, and connect. BearExtender n3 is also a great way to add 802.11n wireless networking capability to your older Mac. 802.11n offers higher transmission speeds and greater range over 802.11g and 802.11b networks. With no tools required, BearExtender n3 is the easiest way to add 802.11n to your previous generation Mac. Technical Specifications - Powerful Wi-Fi radio transmitter with maximum 0.7 Watt (700mW) output power - Proprietary Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) for superior power amplification ...
