According to Deadline, Warner Bros has closed deals with Akiva Goldsman and Overbrook Entertainment to produce another installment of I Am Legend staring will smith. The intention is for Will Smith to reprise his role as scientist Robert Neville, who was the last man on Earth doing battle with a mutated mob in New York City after an apocalyptic man-made virus wiped out the population. AS you guys know, there were rumors that the film would be a prequel, but it is NOT yet confirmed that this is the case. Something else NOT confirmed is star, Smith. Apparently he wont commir until the script is written...BUT if its actually a sequel and not a prequel...where would smith fit into the script anyway...he did die at the end of the first film.
