Visit Paris

www.eurodestination.com I visited Paris for 36 hours specifically to make this video. Paris is much smaller than London and most of the major sites can be reached by walking if you have no need to actually go inside them. Sites on this video include the Eiffel Tower, l'Arc de Triomphe, place de la Concorde, Rue Rivoli, the Bastille, Place de la Republique, Notre Dame Cathedral, Invalides, Musee d'Orsay, the Pantheon, Palais de Luxembourg, the River Seine, and Montmartre.

Montmartre and Pigalle, Paris, France

A quick tour (1/4 hour) of Pigalle and Montmartre in Paris, France. About the first two minutes of the video contains scenes of Pigalle (including the Moulin Rouge); Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the areas on Montmartre start at 03:11. Turn on closed captions if you want narration. I redid the captions on January 8 because the original captions were a bit messy. Most of the principal photography was carried out on March 7, 2011. I also have another video that shows parts of Montmartre that are off the beaten tourist track. Find it on my channel, or use the link at the end of this video.

Montmartre Paris

This video contains a number of clips from my last video of Paris, but also some previously unseen footage (wahey). Produced purely for the benefit of www.youtube.com , it shows the delights of visiting the Montmartre district of Paris with its colourful characters, great cafes and restaurants and above all the Sacre Coeur Church from where you can pretty much see the whole of Paris. The Pigalle is just at the bottom of the hill, with the Moulin Rouge and other delights.

Harlem in Montmartre: The French Contribution to Jazz | The New School

Harlem in Montmartre: Notes on the French Contribution to Jazz THE NEW SCHOOL | www.newschool.edu Charles Hobson, producer of the PBS Great Performances program Harlem in Montmartre, brings to The New School the story of the jazz age in Paris between the First and Second World Wars, a fascinating but neglected piece of African American history. Inspired by William A. Shacks book of the same title, his documentary contains rare archival performance footage of James Europe, Josephine Baker, Sidney Bechet, Bricktop, Eugene Bullard, Django Reinhardt, and many more. Using photographs and film clips from the 1920s and 30s, Mr. Hobson discusses his film and the extraordinary role played by French artists and intellectuals in advancing the acceptance of jazz as a serious art form. Paris, France - Video tour of Montmartre (Part 1)

Hello and welcome for another video tour of a fantastic neighborhood in Paris by New York Habitat ( www.nyhabitat.com ). In this video, we visit the lovely district of Montmartre, a Paris neighborhood with winding streets that give the feeling that you have left Paris, which is one of the trendiest and most curious districts of the city. This will be the first of a two-part series of video tours on this fantastic neighborhood, so be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel ( http ) and you will be notified when Part 2 comes out in a few weeks. Also, feel free to watch other great video tours of Paris neighborhoods, such as this one of the Champs Elysees ( www.youtube.com ) or this one of Saint-Germain-des-Pres ( www.youtube.com ). Montmartre, or "the Mountain of the Martyrs," most likely gets its name from the martyr Saint Denis. When wandering around up on the hill, be sure to keep an eye out for the headless statue of Saint Denis hidden in a little garden. Sacre-Coeur, the white-domed church on the top of La Butte, is actually much younger than it looks, and was the subject of much controversy when it was built in 1914. The building of the church helped lead to tourism in the city and especially to the Montmartre area as the French flocked to see the church, even though most of the artists and bohemian characters were firmly against the building of such a massive religious structure in Montmartre. The Moulin Rouge is perhaps the most famous, or rather infamous, cabaret ...

Montmartre funicular, Paris

The Montmartre funicular is an automatic funicular railway serving the Montmartre neighbourhood of Paris, in the Eighteenth arrondissement. It is operated by the RATP, the Paris transport authority. It was opened on 13 July 1900 and was entirely rebuilt in 1935 and again in 1991. The funicular carries passengers from the base of the butte (outlier) of Montmartre to the summit, near the base of the Sacré-Cœur basilica, and back down. It provides an alternative to the multiple stairways of more than 300 steps that lead to the top of the Butte Montmartre. At 108 m (354 ft) long, the funicular climbs and drops the 36 m (118 ft) in under a minute and a half. It carries two million passengers a year.

Paris, France - Video tour of Montmartre (Part 2)

Hello and welcome to another New York Habitat video tour of a neighborhood in Paris ( www.nyhabitat.com ). Today, David Hill will take you on a tour of Montmartre for the second part of our series on this famous neighborhood. While it used to be a small bohemian village on a hill outside of Paris, Montmartre has now become one of the most famous neighborhoods of the French capital city. Montmartre is one of the last towns that were amalgamated during the expansion of Paris in the 19th century. Its origins have made it one of the coolest and most curious neighborhoods of Paris. Do not forget to watch the first part of our series dedicated to Montmartre ( http ) and to subscribe to New York Habitat's YouTube Channel in order to be notified as soon as a new video is released ( www.youtube.com ). Feel free to watch other great video tours of Paris as well, such as this one of Saint-Germain-des-Pres ( www.youtube.com ) or this one of the Champs-Elysees ( www.youtube.com ). If it is art you are after, you will probably love the Place de Tertre, where you will find the homes of several artists, such as the apartment where Vincent Van Gogh lived with his brother at 54 rue Lepic, or the apartment of Pablo Picasso at 49 rue Gabrielle. And if you would like to bring home a piece of art from your trip to Montmartre, make sure to stop by Carre d'Artistes, a sort of art market located at 16 rue Yvonne Le Tac. It was like 10 years ago when I watched this movie "Amelie from Montmartre." All I could remember is that it was somehow... weird.. And the OST "Comptine D'un Autre Ete L'apres Midi," which means an afternoon in summer (I guess..) also sounds a little weird. Anyhow, it has this addictive rhythm and melody. Hope u enjoy it ! :)
