The Guitar God in action. I get many comments asking "what's the song at [insert time]" etc.. Normally I would say you should know AC/DC better than that if you claim to be a fan. Anyway, here's a helping hand for the not-that-hardcore-fan-yet fans: 0:00-0:15 is no song. Just one of many little solos Angus did between songs live. 0:15-0:45 is "Problem Child" 0:45-1:04 is "Dog Eat Dog" 1:04-2:50 is "Rocker" plus part of a solo in the middle of the song. One of the few times Angus could go out to the audience without all of them freaking out! 2:50-3:31 is "Sin City" 3:31-4:04 is like the first one, not a song.Though, Angus used to play this solo (often with slight changes) live after the song "Let There Be Rock" 4:04-4:30 is "Guns For Hire" 4:30-4:46 is "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" 4:46-5:05 is "Back in Black" 5:05-5:58 is "TNT" 5:58-6:36 is "Thunderstruck"

Incident during Bad Boy Boogie at Phoenix AZ 2000 From the 2007 book Maximum Rock & Roll, page 431: "You can take the schoolboy out of Glasgow but you can't take the streets of Glasgow out of the schoolboy. The show in Pheonix, Arizona, was ticking over like clockwork. That was until midway through the breakdown of Badboy Boogie when someone threw a drink at Angus. Typically, he didn't take this lying down. He walked over, pointed the guy out and beckoned him over. Then came another drink, and that was it. Angus took off his guitar, handed it to a roadie and lowered himself under the gaurd rail to get closer to the guy. When he was within reach, Angus firmly tweaked the guy's nose and dished out some verbal venom before the offender was led out by security. In this video I take you through 6 awesome Angus Young AC/DC style licks, close up and slow for you to check out. There is a pdf tab on the web site page which will probably make things easier. Everybody's asking about the sound. I have a 1973 Marshall JMP50 head into a vintage late 60's 4x12 speaker box (for the really anal, the speakers are greenbacks, two original and two re-issues). Settings: Presence 2, Bass 4, Middle 6, Treble 4, Volume I 5, Volume II 0. It's bloody loud, even but I have it in the live room, connected by a door. No special mic though, it's just getting picked up by a Neumann 184 I have fitted to the camera and the Lapel Mic. The guitar is a regular modern SG Standard, the trick to get a good Angus tone is to turn the volume down to about 7 or 8 - on full it's too distorted imho.Taught by Justin Sandercoe. Playing Angus Young's guitar in Sydney AU.
I went to see AC/DC in Sydney AU on Feb 22 and got the full stage tour from Malcolm's tech Bison and their amp tech Rick (who builds Wizard Amps). I got to play one of Angus's SG's through one of his Wizard amps. It sounded amazing. I was so nervous I couldn't remember how to play half the AC/DC songs I know. Notice how high the strap is as well. It's Angus's! Oh, and AC/DC was incredible.
