www.adamlerner.net I had the great pleasure of chatting with fine-art, fashion photographer, Natalie Dybisz aka Miss Aniela via Skype from across the pond. I first discovered Natalie's work about a year and a half ago thru her Flickr stream which is filled with amazingly intricate self-portraiture with a twist in addition to her newer fashion experience work. Her imagery takes on an other-worldly look and feel that beside the obvious beauty, leaves a lot to the imagination. This interview and discussion is for anyone looking for inspiration - whether it be commercial photography, fine-art photography, or hobbyists. Natalie is someone to watch. From Pixels to Vogue: Making of Surreal Fashion by Miss Aniela
Ever wondered what goes into a complicated composite, or just intrigued to watch a curious dance of birds, brushes and bongos? This is a speeded up insight into making 'Migration Season', an image from my Surreal Fashion series. Whilst shooting at a quirky location in London I had the notion of doing something surreal in post-processing with the bird wallpaper. I didn't quite know exactly what, but this video shows how I select from all the shots, including a bank of shots I took of the birds, and brought them together, 'to life', in Photoshop. Upon completion, the final piece then becomes part of two magazine features including April 2012's Vogue Italia. I started editing this 3am after the shoot, editing non-stop through the next day. The whole process in reality took about 9 hours - but that's with all the decision-making involved and wrangling with the unknowns. This is the most detailed I've yet shown my post-processing workflow online. Australian WIN TV Art Review Part 1 on "Music and the Angels" series of paintings launch for the first time in Galeria Aniela fine art Gallery NSW Australia. David Boyd artist (b.1924-) is a member of the Boyd artistic dynasty. He created the new series of paintings "Music and the Angels" to honour his daughter Amanda, who suffered from the breast cancer, sadly, Amanda passed away Saturday, 29 August 1998. Remarkable artists like David Boyd remind us of the importance of joy, the significance of passion, sensuality, love and delight in our every day lives. David Boyd vitalise us through his work and communicate that each day can be a celebration of life. David Boyd has won significant international recognition. In 1969 David Boyd was invited by the Commonwealth Institute of Art in London to hold a major retrospective of his paintings.
