THIS HURTS! What hurts...: My right ankle. How you hurt it...: I sprained my right ankle a few days ago. When you hurt it...: A few daysago. Your pain level (1 is low, 10 is high pain): about 5. Your age and overall health...: I'm 20 years old in good condition. Any other information you feel is relevant...: My problem is how to wrap my ankle. I have to wear a bandage to support my ankle. But i don't know how to do it correctly. When i do it, after about an hour, the external side of my foot become painfull. It would be really great if you could show me how to do it correctly. Thank you very much. YOUR INJURY COULD BE... Sprained Ankle REHAB YOUR INJURY BY... Ankle Wrap: Use a 3 inch to 3 1/2 inch ace wrap. Apply the wrap with the most compression down the foot and less pressure higher up on your leg to keep swelling out of your foot and pumped up to your heart. Apply the wrap with firm compression around the base of your foot. Then apply figure eights around the ankle joint, about 3 to 4 times, as shown in the video. Then begin to do circular motions up the ankle and foot. As you gradually go up your leg lighten up your pressure. Anchor the ace wrap with tape or a clip. This application can be used for a variety of ankle issues including ankle sprains, stretched ligaments, inflamed tendons, or general ankle weakness. The added support will give you the confidence and support during the rehabilitation phase of an injury as well as the stability and pain relief during activity.
