On Black Friday 2011, 22 citizens entered the Wal-Mart in Saline. WE entered the big box store in order to alert and educate the misguided costumers of the terrible practices of Wal-Mart. Our message was projected through the Human Microphone first utilized at Occupy Wall Street. Wal-Mart employees and security attempted to silence our collective voices, but were extremely cooperative and generous with their time and allowed us to finish. We gathered in the women's clothing section, and began with a resounding MIC CHECK! and read from a script prepared prior to our action. During which members of our group passed out business cards with a QR code and a link to a website created to continue education and awareness of consumers. Some employees and some customers responded negatively to our action, but on the whole we seemed to be received positively. We concluded by emphasizing that while we are disgusted with Wal marts practices, our action was to demonstrate love, concern and support of the employees working there. Ending in a resounding cheer, we left the store, offering information cards and thanking our fellow (comrades?) out in the parking lot we cheered and chanted THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE and WE ARE THE 99%. as we left the property we were stopped by a police woman, who very honorably respected our right to remain silent. We love walking down our tree-lined streets in Ann Arbor, along the Huron River and through our vibrant downtown. But as motorists we don't yield for pedestrians at crosswalks. We speed through residential neighborhoods. Why? Not all communities in America experience this problem. This videos shows some examples of these dangerous pedestrian issues. This video was filmed over a two hour period at randomly selected intersection around Ann Arbor. We can have a community where we no longer feel invisible as pedestrians-- where motorists stop to allow children to cross the street.

Hound Dog Taylor and the House Rockers - 15 minute LIVE Ann Arbor 1973 Video Hound Dog Taylor was born Theodore Roosevelt Taylor, named after the US President. He was born with six fingers on each hand. Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, his childhood was not an easy one. When he was only 9 years old, his step father supposedly packed up all of his things in a brown paper bag, stood in the doorway with a shotgun, and told Hound Dog to "cut out". That's the way the story goes anyway. From info I've gathered from people who knew him, this story may or may not be true. But he did go to live with his older sister around that time in his life. The first instrument Taylor learned to play was not the guitar, but piano, which he learned as a kid. He first picked up the guitar while in his teens but didn't start to seriously play until he was around 21. At that time he started playing all over the Delta, not only playing guitar, but piano, too. He also appeared a few times on the legendary King Biscuit Flour radio show of KFFA in West Helena, Arkansas, with Sonny Boy Williamson. In 1942, Taylor, always the ladies man, was chased out of Mississippi one day by the Klan after having an affair with a white woman. He spent the first day hiding in drainage ditches and then the next day he headed for Chicago. He never went back. Although he continued to play his guitar semi-professionally at night, he spent the first 15 years in Chicago working several different non music jobs. In 1957 <b>...</b>

Hash Bash in Ann Arbor and the End of the War On Marijuana (2010)
This video contains speeches by John Sinclair and Bruce Cain with introductions by Hash Bash "Master of Ceremonies" Adam Brook. In the second year after Medical Marijuana became legal in Michigan we celebrate the 39th Annual Hash Bash in Ann Arbor Michigan. John Sinclair, the first speaker, is the actual reason the Hash Bash began. In 1970 he was persecuted, as a political prisoner of the state, after facing 10 years in Prison for the possession of 2 Marijuana Cigarettes. In December 1970 John Lennon, of the Beatles, came to Ann Arbor to hold a special concert to raise money for John Sinclair's defense. Soon after John was free. Bruce Cain is the second speaker and is the author of the MERP Model for Marijuana Re-Legalization. Under this model all adults would be able to "grow their own" untaxed, unregulated and unlimited in the number of plants that they can grow. This is the ONLY way that the Mexican Drug Cartels can be defeated. It is the only way that the sick and the poor will be able to afford Marijuana. And it is the only way that the PIGS (Police Instigating "Grass" Stings) can be prevented from breaking into our homes . . . much like the British broke into the homes of the American Colonists. Both Cain and Sinclair support the right for Americans to grow their own Marijuana without taxation or regulation. All the scoring but the field goal with 10.7 seconds left took place in the first half as the Tractors (9-0) jumped out to an early 14-0 lead, only to have the Pioneers tie the game at halftime on touchdown passes from QB Miles Sorise to University of Michigan recruit Ricardo Miller, Brandis Yarrington and Mark Hugan. Adam Hammoud scored twice and Bilal Abu-Omarah once for Fordson. Both teams await the MHSAA playoff selection show Sunday night.
