MedPot in Prison? Grant Krieger: Marc Emery vs. Crazy Doctor

Medical Marijuana exemptee and MS sufferer Grant Krieger was sent to jail without the medical marijuana his court-ordered Constitutional exemption allows, even though the judge had first ordered the imprisonment delayed until the jail could find a way to provide marijuana. Marc Emery and a "infectious diseases" doctor discuss the situation - the doctor rambles on with nonsense while Marc calls him out and describes Grant's suffering and mistreatment. Please, help save Canadian cannabis activists from extradition to the US and life in US prison for their peaceful, non-violent activities in CANADA! Call the Justice Minister of Canada and leave a message saying he should not committ Marc Emery, Michelle Rainey, or Greg Williams to extradition to the USA! Medical Experts On Marijuana / Educational Video

Video in the public domain. Q. Does marijuana have any medical value? Any determination of a drug's valid medical use must be based on the best available science undertaken by medical professionals. The Institute of Medicine conducted a comprehensive study in 1999 to assess the potential health benefits of marijuana and its constituent cannabinoids. The study concluded that smoking marijuana is not recommended for the treatment of any disease condition. In addition, there are more effective medications currently available. For those reasons, the Institute of Medicine concluded that there is little future in smoked marijuana as a medically approved medication. Advocates have promoted the use of marijuana to treat medical conditions such as glaucoma. However, this is a good example of more effective medicines already available. According to the Institute of Medicine, there are six classes of drugs and multiple surgical techniques that are available to treat glaucoma that effectively slow the progression of this disease by reducing high intraocular pressure. In other studies, smoked marijuana has been shown to cause a variety of health problems, including cancer, respiratory problems, increased heart rate, loss of motor skills, and increased heart rate. Furthermore, marijuana can affect the immune system by impairing the ability of T-cells to fight off infections, demonstrating that marijuana can do more harm than good in people with already compromised immune systems. Bruce Conklin: Drug screening with stem cells

One possible use for pluripotent stem cells is to screen drugs for toxic side effects. The idea is that researchers could grow those stem cells into mature cell types such as heart, liver, or brains cells, expose them to new drugs or potential environmental hazards, then look for toxic side effects. Dr. Bruce Conklin has a CIRM grant to develop heart cells that could be used in toxicology screens. Conklin is Senior Investigator at the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease.

DWI of Cibola County PSA uncut

Here is the uncut footage from a series of commercials for DWI of Cibola County (Grants, New Mexico) in cooperation with NMSU-Grants (New Mexico State University Grants Campus) and Working Boy Productions of Albuquerque, NM. Inspired by the "This is your brain" commercials we use "This is your date... this is your date after you drink." We also use a hip version of the famous "You Drink, You Drive, You Lose" campaign which is "You Booze, You Cruise, You Lose." This commercials will run on KASA Fox in New Mexico during the 2007-2008 school year with the majority run in April and May when most teen drunk driving accidents tend to happen (due to prom and graduation). We encourage your feedback and if you'd like to have us customize this commercial for your own DWI campaign please contact Doug Bocaz-Larson at dbocaz@nmsu.edu From en.wikipedia.org Driving under the influence of alcohol, drunk driving, drinking and driving (North American English), or drink-driving (British/Irish and Australian/New Zealand English), is the act of operating a motor vehicle (and sometimes a bicycle or similar human-powered vehicle) after having consumed alcohol (ethanol) or other drugs, to the degree that mental and motor skills are impaired. It is a crime in most countries around the world. Drunk driving has taken away many lives. Uzbekistan - Fight Against HIV AIDS

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) has signed a consolidated agreement with the Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Uzbekistan, expanding the response to the spread of AIDS in Central Asia. The Consolidated Grant agreement, signed in early 2012, supports national HIV initiatives by improving monitoring and evaluation as well as providing treatment, care, and prevention services, with a focus on those most at risk. "The strong results of the UNDP-Global Fund HIV programme in Uzbekistan demonstrate the success of UNDP's partnerships with national actors and the Global Fund," Haoling Xu, Deputy Director at UNDP's Regional Bureau for Europe & the CIS, said. "With the continuation of these partnerships, under the consolidated HIV programme, we hope to see continued improvement in the lives of those living with HIV in Uzbekistan." UNDP Uzbekistan previously provided administrative and management support to the Republican AIDS Center for the HIV component of the Global Fund programme there. In August 2010, UNDP was asked to become Principal Recipient for the Global Fund's HIV programmes in Uzbekistan. Under a previous Round 3 HIV grant, the national HIV programme reported that as of December 2011, 3832 eligible HIV-positive people were receiving life-saving anti-retroviral therapy (ART) and more than 31700 young people had received peer education—supported by UNDP and the Global Fund. The programme had also reached more than 16100 drug users through treatment ...

In this video, TOC highlights these views. Presently, 22-year old Malaysian Yong Vui Kong is in S'pore's death row for drug trafficking. He is at the moment (4 April 2010) awaiting the Court of Appeal's judgement on his appeal against the sentence of death. Vui Kong was only 19 when he was arrested in S'pore in 2007.
