Nomitori no Uta (also known as 'Drinking Song') is a beautiful but totally unappreciated little song composed by Yoko Kanno for the Escaflowne movie. I have always wanted to do a cover of it! I composed a little chorus section to give it a bit more melodic structure, and created the best arrangement I could to showcase its primal beauty. It is sung by a group of children in the original track and it is SO cute! :3 I could not find much information on the song, let alone lyrics or a translation....I did my best to imitate what I heard of the lyrics in the original track, but I have no idea if it's entirely correct or even what the lyrics mean. I chose to play this particular arrangement of Zohar's becuase i noticed that both of youtube's foremost interpreters of Zohar's music - namely, the amazingly brilliant Verdegrand and the equally formidable Zorsy - have not yet uploaded this, so I thought that I'd try to get in there first :P so, in a sense, i dedicate this performance to them, and their amazing videos of Zohar's wonderful arrangements. In terms of my own take on this piece, it may be noted that i chose to play it at a faster tempo than Zohar's original - and so, because of this, the piece lacks the chilled out/mellow feeling of the original (and for that i can only apologise), to be replaced by a foreboding sense of urgency and drama. Here is another wonderful Zohar arrangement! Btw, this 'Peaceful Days' seems to be one of two (possibly three? although the third has 'kLuTz' listed as the arranger on the score - is kLuTz the same as Zohar??? I've actually played through this piece and imho, I can't find anything in the score that makes me think 'yes, this is definitely the work of Zohar!') arrangements of this piece done by Zohar - and the one which remains most faithful towards the original melody in terms of 'musical direction'. It's amazing how every piece that Zohar does seems to be touched with a little bit of magic :P NOTE: unlike my 'Schala's Theme' which I played much faster than original tempo (I will add a link to it below), I pretty much stuck to the tempo here, however I did play Zohar's signature runs at a slightly more sedate pace, to make them, in my opinion, fit the mood of the piece better. Also, the run which starts at 1:31 (bar 52), I extended for an octave longer than it is on the score. (just the disturbing sounds on loud places is making dirty the music :/.. i hope my next works will be better on record and video.) thanks for the composer: Howard Shore for this nice music... ps: at multiple seperate records, its logical to use metronome for perfect timing, but on this long piece, there are lots of tempo changes and different tempos. so i didnt want to make it static with just one tempo. and also didnt want to cut song as lots of pieces. it also wasnt eligible that; if the main part i record first and to listen that piece, play others ''on'' it... but no, it couldnt be, because there are so many long sounds in piece that they need to hold and wait in general. if it was a fast piece it would be ok but not..and, i recorded 4 parts by listening the original. at there even orchestra members playing with little misfits on timing, and while i'm playing it, because of it calm peace, it was hard to hear back sounds while playing and checking my own violin sound clear at same time (for feel better on my own playing i put just one of of ear headphone). and so, my playing is not perfect on timing, i wish that.... (excuses excuses ^^... :P) with time i'm trying to improve myself with experience, and try different ways. (and i'm learning to be patient.i wont rush myself to finish with easy way anymore i guess ^^. disturbing sounds <b>...</b>

Jonathon Borton pianist. Mark Hayes is very important me because he was my introduction into classical music. One of my first assigned piece was Give Me Jesus from his "10 Spirituals for Solo Voice collection Volume I " I will sing from his book until I can't sing anymore. His compositions are like a dance between voice and piano like a duet which to me is how it should be. Go tell it on the mountain is also one of my FAVORITE Christmas/spiritual songs. So, I thought to myself it would be nice to sing a my favorite song for church that he arranged. I sang almost every Go tell it arrangement there is........I love this song!
