Protesters started marching up the pedestrian walk way over the bridge while others tried to take the traffic lane. For a few minutes officers held the line and then they turned around and led the way up the traffic lane on the Brooklyn Bridge. From what I saw no police told any of the protesters to leave until they created a barricade in front of the march about halfway through the bridge. They then pulled vans and buses up to the back of the group and started arresting everyone. In total over 700 people were arrested.

A flashmob in Washington has felt the full force of the law, by being forcibly arrested by police - for dancing in public. They'd gathered at the Jefferson Memorial in defiance of a ban on dancing at the monument. Among those held were RT America presenter Adam Kokesh, who says he was slammed to the ground by officers. The ban came in during 2008 when an activist sued police for arresting her for public dancing. About 700 people from the Occupy Wall Street protest movement,including child have been arrested on New York City's Brooklyn Bridge. Those arrested were part of a larger group crossing the bridge from Manhattan, where they have been camped out near Wall Street for two weeks. The New York City police department say that they began arresting people because they had spilled from the pedestrian section of the bridge onto the roadway and were blocking traffic. Protesters claim they were led onto the road by police and essentially trapped so they could be arrested. The loosely-organised group is protesting against corporate greed. They say they are defending 99% of the US population against the wealthiest 1%. On Wednesday October 5,NYPD did another brutality again ,hit protesters and media with baton and pepper spray.
