de Pong Game I - Art Rock festival 2006
De Pong Game is a recycling of the famous game PONG [Atari 1975-1977]. This new version has been built with Flash [Action Script] by Arjan Westerdiep for Recyclism™ (Benjamin Gaulon). This project is exploring the concept of Augmented Reality by using and interacting with urban architectures [buildings] as background for the game. Thus the game is projected on a building and the limits of that building are becoming the limits of the game area. The ball projected on the building bounces along the limits of the walls. The software is also using the windows as an obstacles for the game. So the ball is limited to frame of the building. As you touch the ball with the slider, its speed increases and because the ball bounces on all the obstacles of the architecture it becomes more and more difficult to play.

Part of the first wave of American noise rock groups, the band carried out their interpretation of the hardcore punk ethos throughout the evolving American underground that focused more on the DIY ethic of the genre rather than its specific sound. As a result, some consider Sonic Youth as pivotal in the rise of the alternative rock and indie rock movements. The band has experienced success and critical acclaim throughout the last three decades, continuing into the new millennium, including signing to major label DGC in 1990, and headlining the 1995 Lollapalooza festival. Sonic Youth have expressed a wide variety of influences, ranging from the influential protopunk musician Patti Smith to composer John Cage. The band has been praised for having "redefined what rock guitar could do", using a wide variety of unorthodox guitar tunings, and preparing guitars with objects like drumsticks and screwdrivers to alter the instruments' timbre.

Aaron Wendell created this instrument in instructor Eric Leonardson's instrument construction class. Aaron started out with the idea of using water bubbles to create sounds, and then had to figure out everything from how to make the instrument case watertight, to how he could direct the air flow, to how to set up a bellows-type system to create the air flow in the first place. Featured originally in one of UZ's most praised albums, "Ceux du Dehors" (1980), it was played by an exquisite ensemble lead in Gouveia by the project's mastermind Daniel Denis (drums), composed also of Michel Berckmans (bassoon), Martin Lauwers (violin), Peter Vandenberghe (keyboards), Eric Plantain (bass) and Kurt Budé (clarinet). The whole show was complemented by the graphical art projections of Philippe Seynaeve. A clip of a live concert in front of a 50000+ audience in Shandong city of Jinan province. CJ's usual cast of Liu Yuan on woodwinds, Eddie Randriamampionana (i'm pretty sure i got that right!) on guitar, Beibei on drums, and guest bassist Wu Junde (of the hardcore industrial rock band Tongue {Shetou)) filling in for then regular bassist Zhang Ling; CJ's current bassist is the upright-string jazz bass persona Liu Yue. It was a big night of colorful rock music renditions featuring bands like: Tang Dynasty, Hei Bao, The Flowers, Hang on the Box, Zero Point, Wang Feng and 43 Baojia St., Sick Pupa, and etc. Like in a variety of other Cui Jian songs, his lyrics depict a story that appear to be something about his past love and personal relationships, but as always, they're quite cryptic and may be interpreted in a larger and more worldly sense; CJ's "lover" may be an entity or mindset that we all have to deal with at certain points in our lives, and this/these entities may boast a certain high ideology, but in real life and practice, we seek reform from this/these high-ideology.
