A9 Reichsautobahn Triptis - Schleiz, Germany
A drive on a "Reichsautobahn", these are motorways constructed in the 1930's by Hitler. This one shows the A9 between Triptis and Schleiz, eastern Germany. Notice the old concrete and lack of shoulders. Other Reichsautobahnen can be found elsewhere in Germany, but most are updated to modern standards. This road opened in 1936, and the current concrete might be even the original concrete from 1936, but I'm not sure about that. Recorded sunday August 16th, 2009

Second Coen Tunnel, Amsterdam, NL
A video update of the second Coen Tunnel progress in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A second tunnel is under construction since 2009, together with a new elevated motorway which will be numbered A5 and bypass Amsterdam to the west. After 2012, there will be 4 tubes, with 3 lanes in the existing tubes (down from 4) and 2 reversible lanes plus 3 general lanes in the new tubes, for a total of 8 lanes, with 5 lanes in the peak direction. There are currently 2 lanes per direction. This means peak capacity will be increased by 250%.
