Find out how the Nvidia GTS 450 stacks up against the ATI 5770? The GTS 450 is NVIDIA's lowest price Fermi graphics card to-date and is focused directly at at playing games at mainstream resolutions. The GTS 450 is the directx 11 replacement for the GTS 250 and new competitor to ati's 5750 and 5770. With this card Nvidia is attempting to regain market share in the budget gaming segment. According to the reviews on major tech sites such as tweaktown, legit reviews overclockers club and neoseeker the GTS 450 is between the ati 5750 and 5770 in terms of performance. As of today, Newegg and other online retailers have the prices of at $US119 for the ati 5750, $US129 for the GTS 450 and $US139 for the ati 5770. This current price point is appropriate considering the GTS 450 achieves on average a performance level between the two ati cards in this segment. However the 5750 and 5770 have been on the market for nearly one year giving ATI plenty of time to achieve economies of scale and economies of experience in the production process. Given this I believe ATI can afford significant price drops to these cards and will likely to announce a new pricing strategy with further price drops in the next few days. While a 10MHz overclock on both the core and memory clock speeds is not much, that is not the point of this card. The Vapor-X video card runs quietly when in Windows with no discernable noise from the card in normal operation. The second thing this card has is a high overclock threshold with 850MHz for the core and 1420MHz for the memory fully stable. Temperatures with Vapor-X reached 56C under load when overclocked and 42C when idle, very good temperatures for a video card. The cost of the card will be a little more expensive than a 5750 reference card but for that cost you get excellent cooling, excellent overclocking and slightly higher performance due to the increased clocks. You also get a copy of Colin Mcraes Dirt 2 game that is one of the first DX11 games to hit in December. For those wanting extreme cooling and a different than standard reference designed card this is one solid Hot Product.

It runs decent. However, lags quite a bit occasionally. Quite a good game in my opinion. The story kept me wanting more. The music incorporated into the game suits it well. Let me just say, this game was optimized very well. Everything is played on max settings. Fair game to say the least, but I wouldn't call it incredibly good. Nevertheless it's a fun game to play. Though it might be too fast paced for some people. Please watch the video at 720p to get the best quality out of it. :) With Fraps I'm getting a good stable 30FPS (occassionally it will seem like it lags, but that's because my hard disk is slow). Without Fraps I get around 40-60 FPS (depending on the amount of combat). In-game settings: Resolution: 1600 x 900 Shadow Quality: High Effect Quality: High Anti-aliasing 4x MSAA HBAO: On Vertical sync: Off Anisotropic filtering: 16x Texture quality: High Detail: High Note: Vsync option is grayed out for some reason, so it doesn't let me turn it on. Note2: About halfway towards the end of the video the audio starts to desyncronize. I'm not sure why, but for some reason it does. So, no need to point that out for me.
