The Fit-PC2 has an Intel Atom z530 1.6GHz processor. A custom PIC18F4550 based USB interface board was built to pipe motor control protocol. The gray plastic was designed in Solidworks, and was created using a Dimension BST 1200es 3D printer. Inverse kinematics is used with a dynamic walking gait. The dynamics still need work to be smoother and faster. The legs are not calibrated perfectly either, which can be seen when a foot occasionally lifts up. Currently the robot has foot contact sensors which will be used in the future for terrain adaptation. Three AX-12 motors will be used to control a camera with 3DOF.

This tablet is running the 1.66GHz Atom Z530 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD, 2 USB ports, an HDMI port and a webcam all come standard. On paper they are saying that it is faster and more powerful then the iPad, but i've always found the Z530 not a strong processor choice for multitasking. The tablet was actually barely functional and really felt and looked like MSI went, "OH, Right, We are supposed to show off a tablet next week" I'm a little kinder in the video, and MSI isn't alone is showing tablets that aren't complete with a spec sheet that does match. So dont' think I'm just picking on them, ASUS also showed off tablets with no ports, but at least their prototype looked polished. The design is also not impressive, the MSI WindPad 110 has a more ergonomic and well thought through design.

www.netbooknews.com MSI had a CES preview yesterday in Taipei and we got our hands on the MSI Windpad 100W their 10 inch Windows 7 tablet. Not much has changed with the Windpad since we saw it at Computex in June, the build quality still feels like a prototype and the processor is the Intel Atom Z530, which is old school hardware. MSI claims that this is the highest they could go with out installing a fan. True, but i'm not sure who would want to buy it when its thick and outdated. To get into the specs of this 10 inch tablet we have an angled camera as well as a front facing camera, HDMI, 4 in 1 card reader, SIM card slot, 2 x USB 2.0 and 32GB SSD. It also comes with Bluebooth and the screen is capacitive multitouch and it also sports an accelerometer. Even though we are told the Windpad 100W is already for sale through unnamed telcos in unknown geographies we weren't able to get an idea for pricing. I'm sure we'll be able to get more details at CES as this was just a preview event aimed at the Taiwanese media.

If you thought the iPad was cool, think again. It seems HP has been secretly working on a competitor for the currently popular Apple product; the HP Slate. Unveiled at CES 2010, the Slate has already made it's mark on the public showing that the Slate is able to be a top class competitor against the iPad. I bet Steve Jobs is pissing himself. From what I've heard, the Slate start at the price of $549 with a 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 capacitive multitouch display, a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor with UMA graphics and an accelerator for 1080p video playback . The Slate will also carry 32GB of flash storage and 1GB of non-upgradeable RAM. There's also a $599 version with 64GB of storage, and both models will have a five-hour battery, an SDHC slot, two camera, a USB port, a SIM card slot for the optional 3G modem, and a dock connector for power, audio, and HDMI out. Two Windows tablets were on offer from MSI at CeBIT this year in the shape of the Windpad 100W and Windpad 110W. Both running Windows 7 Home Premium edition, the main physical differences come in the shape of hardware buttons on the Windpad 100W, while the Windpad 110W opts for soft-touch buttons and a trackpad. That trackpad could be particularly useful considering these are Windows 7 tablets, notoriously difficult to navigate through touch. An Atom Z530 is the processor of choice for the WindPad 100W, while the 110W gets an AMD Brazos C50. We have a quick look in the video above.

Today I will be reviewing a notebook called a Dell Inspiron Mini 10. I got it for Christmas, but I believe that it was $600 (i got it in 2009). This Mini 10 is Black in colour, uses the Intel Atom Z530 (1.6 Ghz) CPU, has 1 GB of DDR2 RAM, uses Windows 7 Starter, has a 10.1 inch 16:9 aspect ratio screen (1024 x 576 resolution), a 160 GB 5400 RPM 2.5 inch hard drive, a 1.3 megapixel Webcam, a 802.11g WiFi card, and is powered by a 3-cell 24 WHr battery.

Basato su processore Intel Atom Z530, il nuovo piccolo VAIO si caratterizza per dimensioni molto ridotte e per un peso di soli 620 grammi. Il display ha una diagonale di 8 pollici con una risoluzione molto particolare 1600x768 pixel - La nuova serie VAIO P rappresenta una delle più importanti novità presentate da Sony al CES di Las Vegas. La casa giapponese ha realizzato un prodotto ultraportatile decisamente fuori dal coro soprattutto per quanto riguarda dimensioni e peso: 245mm x 120mm e solo 620 grammi. Nelle immagini abbiamo confrontato il VAIO P con un altro netbook di Toshiba e con portatile da 14 pollici di Dell. Del VAIO P colpisce sicuramente il design: il coperchio del display ha una finitura lucida nera mentre la base è di color alluminio. Sony non ha sprecato nemmeno un centimetro quadrato di questo prodotto: tutto è estremamente ottimizzato e solo così è stato raggiunto l'importante risultato. Come su tutti i più recenti prodotti, la tastiera è a elementi isolati e offre una buona digitazione, superiore per intenderci a quanto offerto da molti altri netbook. Questo tipo di tastiera offre una buona sensazione al tocco, dimensioni dei tasti accettabili anche se l'escursione dei singoli elementi risulta necessariamente ridotta.
