**Updated** This is the FINAL version of Austere Affliction. The previous two versions were simply for feedback and critiques. This version is much improved and best communicates my original vision for this movie. Enjoy! This was an exercise to build my video editing and storytelling abilities. **Corpse Bride Spoilers!** I wanted to try and re-tell the story of Corpse Bride without using any dialogue. When I first watched Corpse Bride, I was expecting a classic Tim Burton twist at the end, I thought Barkus was going to kill Victor. With Austere Affliction, I wanted to recreate the film and end it up with this tragedy actually happening. I feel that my solution accomplishes this. Using Adobe Premiere I took selections from the film (off the DVD I own) and put them together in 3 parts. The story of Austere Affliction shows victor meeting and falling in love with Victoria. He also meets Emily, and becomes confused in the decision between to two women. Victoria is a very kind and loving indivdual, where Emily is much more interesting and lively. A fourth individual intervenes (Barkus Bittern) who is jealous of Victor's relationship with Victoria. Barkus sets out to kill Victor... and succeeds.
