This is a review of my B30,made in China.It had to be stripped and correctly lubed when I first got it,then it fired alot better.Two more problems occured,the spring broke,then the spring guide broke.I replaced the spring,and a little old guy with a lathe in a little shed here in his village in Bulgaria made me a new one,excellent job,and the cost for both was about £10.00.I would recomend this gun to anyone who has access to it.You cannot get them in the uk,as they are well over the power limit,that doesn't apply here in Bulgaria where I live. This is my first, 6 axle Lego train. It is much longer than any of my Lego RC trains. Soon I will print out some pictures of the CSX symbol, and tape them onto it. A couple weeks ago, we saw B30-7 5575 sitting in a yard. I thought it was only on a work train that had been in the area dropping ties for a tie project. However, I was totally wrong. 5575 is working on the local freight on the mainline, not being relegated to work train service. If I am not mistaken, there are only 3 B30-7's left on the CSX roster, and I believe that they are also the oldest GE's remaining on the roster as well. You are listening to an great LVA/B30 from Lorenz made in Zuffenhausen near Stuttgart. The amplifier was build up with some parts from the "Deutsche-Wehrmacht" Not only the tubes, all parts are from the "Deutsche Wehrmacht". The tubes are: 2x EF12 2x RL12P35 1x EZ2 and LG12. The EZ2 is not original but there was a hole with no socket.
Here we see a rare B30-7 #5512 leading an empty work train towards downtown Indianapolis. He will then head out to Fortville, Indiana to pick up MOW equiptment before parking his train at the CSXT Transfer Yard on the near Westside of Indianapolis. B30-7's is a rare occurence today. As of November 15th, 2009, all of the locomotives in the Dash 7 series will be off of the CSX roster. So if you see one of these in your neck of the woods, consider yourself a lucky person!
