Bakhtyar Ustaaz - Pashto Music Composer - [A Biographical Note]
Bakhtyar Ustaaz was born in Matai, Ashaab Baba, Peshawar in 1937. His father name was Din Muhammad. He had 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Bakhtyar Ustaaz was married once. He had 5 daughters and 4 sons. He joined Radio station, Peshawar in 1957 and continued to work there till his tragic death in 1995. He was on his way back home from Radio Station Peshawar when a speeding bus hit him and Bakhtar Ustaaz died on the spot. He was a great composer and a Rabab player. He was awarded a presedential pride of performance award by the government. He travelled many countries to showcase his musical talents. He composed music for numerous pashto songs at Radio station Peshawar and for 20 pashto movies. One of the well known song for which Bakhtyar Ustaaz played Rabab was the following song from pashto film Darra Khyber that was picturized on Khyal Muhammad: "Mung you da Khyber zalmi, Pukhto zamunga shaan dhey...." Village Matai, Ashaab Baba is known for its creative talented people. Pashto poet Gul Zaman of the 1940s, Ameen Ullah, and Inayat Ullah Zia are some of the well known personalities of Matai. Ameen Ullah, who is still alive, has written many books including 4 that provide a peep into his unique style in poetry. He served Radio Station Peshawar for 30 years. Inyatullah Zia, who works at Radio Station Peshawar as program Director, has written 8 books, 4 of them providing a look into his poetry and the remaining books cast an exceptionally profound look into Pakhtun culture and <b>...</b>
