This video was recorded in Unalaska, Alaska. Google it. A bunch of bald eagles show up in our back yard. You get to hear a lot of the bald eagles talking. My kids get really close to them, they must really want more red salmon. Right now the salmon are running upstream to spawn so most of the locals are set-netting on the beach and smoking/canning/grilling some sockeye. In this video the native Aleuts were subsistence fishing and drying out the fillets. The Aleuts were not using the heads and guts and that is what the eagles were eating.

I had gone on a short errand and when I came home I found the cats hanging out with these 2 eagles. During the summer these same two eagles hang out on my porch about every day like it is their own private perch. They also have claim to the lamp post across the street from my house. I just happened to have my FlipVideo on me so I thought I would take a short video to show everyone that the eagles have no interest in eating my cats. The cats sometimes look at the eagles like they would love to catch that big bird but the cats know they don't stand a chance to even try. Look at the video of Suitcase getting slapped by the eagle(that was the last time he tried to catch one). I have also been trying to figure out which eagle is the female and which is the male and I think the braver one that never flies away is the female and the smaller, more scared one is the male. They sit on the porch rail and watch me in my kitchen for hours! I love the sounds they make!

A bald eagle showed up at the pond across the street one day for some lunch. He would hover over the water until he spotted some fish then he'd dive in. Its pretty darn rare to see bald eagles in this part of Maryland. I thought about bugging him with one of my remote control airplanes, but he took off before I had a chance. ;-)

I approached the sandbar, as always stopping at intervals to film in case they fly away. Eventually I get quite close, when suddenly one of them drifts a short distance to start eating a live crab that they must have captured earlier! After a bit they move on down the beach and keep eating.

Ed Clark, founder of the Wildlife Center of Virginia, releases the first eagle after its successful rehabilitation at the center. This was the first time the center's 27 year history that three eagles were ready to be released at the same time. The historic triple release was held at Mason Neck State Park in Lorton, VA on July 25, 2009.

My eagles love windy sunny days. This juvenile is probably one of the babies from this year, he is still a bit clumsy trying to land in the way too thin trees, and clasping leaves in his talons and looking down at his feet in the process. I couldn't edit this, as every second was precious. Hard to hold as I was shooting straight up. He was about 50 feet above me when he was straight over. Love those days of soaring.

A Bald Eagle at Lewiston Lake in Northern California swoops down on a man in a boat who is attempting to land a nice trout. The eagle tries several times as the fisherman attempts to chase it off verbally. Turn up the volume. Just before the man nets the fish, the eagle makes a final attempt and takes the fish. The fisherman is angry. The line breaks and the eagle takes fish and lure. I was fishing nearby and pulled out my camera after the eagle's first swoop to record the action. We need a comment from the fisherman about what it was like to be under attack by such a large scary bird!
