I know I promised an advanced pushup video next, its halfway done - filming the video wiped me out with all the retakes so I couldnt finish it in one session. This video shows how to do barbell rows. Dont attempt these if you have lower back problems, stick to the pullups. While we are on the subject of pullups, these barbell rows are no substitute for pullups. When it comes to building lats, pullups are king! Keys to good form on the barbell row: 1) keep your back motionless 2) keep your abs flexed and tight to support your lower back 3) make sure to breathe, dont hold your breath 4) pull the bar to your hip, not your shoulders 5) use a slow, smooth motion - no jerking By the way, I know I screwed up twice and said "dumbbell row" where I meant "barbell row". I didnt bother re-filming becuase I figured it wouldnt cause any confusion.Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. So, instead of doing long, slow boring cardio, you are going to do a much shorter and faster way of doing it that is also fun. This workout is also a good replacement for interval training, bodyweight circuits, or high intensity cardio. In this 6x6 workout, you will do six exercises for six repetitions each. To start out, you'll do a Barbell Squat. So, place the barbell up across your shoulders,push your hips back, squat down, and drive up. Up next is the Overhead Raise. Place the bar in front of you at shoulder height, and raise the barbell up overhead. Following six reps of the overhead raise, you'll now do a Front Squat. So, the same as the first type of squat, with the exception that the bar bell will now be held across your chest. Once you've finished the squat exercise, you'll go right into the Wide Grip Upright Row or a High Pull. The narrow grip is too rough on your shoulders. Next up is the Romanian Deadlift. Place the barbell down across your thighs, and with a slight bend in the knees, push your hips back. Finishing off the workout you will do a conventional Deadlift for six reps. That's it for the circuit. Rest one minute and then go through it two more times. So, if you don't fee like doing a bodyweight circuit, traditional interval training, or high intensity cardio, then this is a great alternative. BARBELL CIRCUIT WORKOUT


www.turbulencetraining.com http Youre about to discover the Big 5 Barbell circuit workout that will help you burn fat and build muscle at the same time. This is great for fat loss, but it's also really good for conditioning yourself for Mixed Martial Arts training. So, we will do a Barbell Complex where you do a bunch of exercises back-to-back-to-back, with each exercise being done for 15 repetitions. The type of exercises used in the Big 5 circuit include a squat, a pushing movement, a pulling movement, a single leg exercise, and a total body abdominal exercise. For each of these circuits, you will complete all of the exercises without any rest in between, and then rest one minute and repeat for a total of 3 times through the circuit. Start out with a barbell, however, if you are a bit weaker or are a female, then use a 25 pound EZ curl bar. If you find that that is still too difficult, then use a broomstick or just your bodyweight. In contrast, if you are super-fit, then you can go up to 55-65 pounds. The first exercise to do is the squat. For 15 repetitionspush your hips back, squat down to parallel, keeping your back flat, and then up. Next, move on to 15 push presses, making sure to really drive up on the way up. After the push press exercise, you'll move on to 15 standing barbell rows. For proper form, bend over slightly, keep your back flat, and bring your shoulder blades together. Once you have completed all the repetitions for the rows, you'll then go into 15 <b>...</b>

Killer Trap Workout - Barbell Shrugs Pyramid Sets


FREE Bodybuilding Quick Start Kit: www.leehayward.com If you are looking to add some meat to your traps and upper back, give this unique pyramid set shrug workout a try. It will hit your traps from a full spectrum of light weight and high reps, to heavy weights and low reps. Barbell Shrugs are one of my all time favorite mass building moves for the trapezius muscles, but they also work the arms, grip, etc. They are one of those "must do" exercises for overall muscular development. One of the best ways to maximize the effectiveness of shrugs is to do use pyramid sets, start off light for high reps, then work your way up in weight while reducing the number of reps. Then do the opposite and work your way back down again. For example: Set 1: 135 pounds for 25 reps Set 2: 185 pounds for 15 reps Set 3: 225 pounds for 10 reps Set 4: 185 pounds for 15 reps Set 5 135 pounds for 25 reps After you perform a full pyramid set workout like this your traps will be on fire and you'll stimulate some new muscle growth in your shoulders and upper back. The Bradford Press is a shoulder press variation that was invented by Jim Bradford who was an Olympic Weight Lifting champion back in the 1960's. This move is a shoulder press variation where you alternate pressing to the front of the head and to the back of the head. Begin by un-racking a barbell much like you would during a military press. Press the barbell so that it's a couple inches over your head. At this point, lower the barbell behind your head. It should now resemble a behind the neck press. Press the barbell back up so that the bar is a couple inches over your head and bring the bar back to the front military press position. This would constitute one rep. The main difference with this move is that you are moving the bar non stop and keeping constant tension on the shoulders during the entire exercise. You don't lock it out at the top like you would in a normal shoulder press. This is a great move for working the entire shoulder complex and it also helps to increase mobility in the shoulder joint. I recommend that you start off using just the empty barbell and work up to doing 100 total reps. (ie 10 sets of 10 reps, 5 sets of 20 reps, 4 sets of 25 reps, etc.) Just <b>...</b>
