With this video, I pay tribute to BC Rich's golden era (1974-1985). I play a handcrafted BC Rich Mockingbird made in 1984 in El Monte, California, and talk about the company's history and its founder, Bernardo Chavez Rico (1941-1999 RIP). The vintage, custom shop Mockingbird I play on this video features DiMarzio pickups (Super & PAF), active electronics and a Kahler 2300 tremolo. I demonstrate how the electronics work, particularly the varitone knob. Topics discussed on this video include: 1. The involvement of legendary luthier Neal Moser. He designed the Bich shape (which later inspired the Warlock shape), helped redesign the Seagull model and came up with the name Mockingbird. 2. Besides Neal Moser, I recognize several people who were directly or indirectly involved with BC Rich during the golden era: Mal Stich, Sal Gonzales, Jose Blas, Juan Hernandez, Wayne Charvel, Larry DiMarzio, Johnny Go-Go and Gary Kahler. 3. I talk about the BC Rich custom shops located in Southern California and Tijuana, Mexico. 4. I show pictures of classic BC Rich designs: Bich, Ironbird, Stealth, Warlock and Mockingbird as well as pictures of many famous players who played BC Rich guitars: Lita Ford, Randy Piper (WASP), Mick Mars (Motley Crue), Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Kerry King (Slayer), Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) and Paul Stanley (Kiss).

Testing My BC Rich Beast (Distortion)
Testing my beast guitar in distortion mode. The guitar has emgs 85 in bridge and 81 in neck. Gives a great crunch!! It is running through a MXR noise gate pedal and a Boss GT-3 pedal. Amp is a carvin mts just retubed with 4 E34Ls and 5 AX7s. It has analog reverb as well. Enjoy!! Good or bad feedback welcomed.

With this video, I pay tribute to BC Rich's golden era (1974-1985) and luthier Neal Moser. I play a BC Rich Bich Six guitar made in 1983 in El Monte, California. Back then, founder Bernardo Chavez Rico (RIP) was running the company, and Neal Moser was in charge of design, assembly and setup at BC Rich's custom shop. BC Rich Mockingbird ST Guitar Trans Red demo - Nevada Music UK
BC Rich claim that the Mockingbird ST has been inspired by ex- Guns and Roses guitarist - Slash. It has several additions over and above the configuration of the original Mockingbird such as a number of phase switching options and a Varitone filter ... The body has been crafted from Nato wood with Ebony stringers that then has an AAA Quilted Maple Veneer over the top, the neck is made from Maple and houses an Ebony fretboard with small white pearloid diamonds as fret markers. The pick-ups on the Mockingbird ST are in fact Rockfield Mafia Open Coil Humbuckers and are controlled by a variety of knobs and switches to optimise tone and frequency options. Firstly, each pick-up has its own volume control - tone is controlled from a single master tone knob, there is then a variety of toggle switches - 3 x mini switches for pick-up coil tap and reverse phase options, plus a 5 way Varitone filter. A 3 way standard toggle switch is used to select pick-up activation and configuration ... The tremolo and bridge are a licensed Floyd Rose model and all hardware including the Grover Super Rotamatics machine heads is finished in matt black.

I've had so many people ask me to do a review on this guitar, so here it is. I own the 2008 model Virgo Vintage Celtic. I currently have it tuned to Drop-G, but I plan on bringing it back up to Drop-A so I can cover some Chelsea Grin and Whitechapel. As usual, I was playing through my Line 6 Spider III 2X12 150 W amplifier.

BC Rich Eagle Masterpiece in Dragons Blood - Quick Look @ Nevada Music UK
Here... www.nevadamusic.co.uk BC Rich are renowned for creating very fine instruments that are arguably aimed at the rock and metal players, however that said the BC Rich Eagle Masterpiece model - shown here in a stunning Dragons Blood, is perhaps a nod in the direction of the more traditional guitar type ... The body uses Mahogany with a Quilted Maple top and likewise the neck is also Mahogany with a beautiful 24 fret Rosewood fretboard that uses inlaid Clouds for fret orientation.
