What we are looking at in the Toshiba NB550D is the Ontario C-50 which runs at only 1Ghz, has an AMD Radeon HD 6250 running at 280 MHz while supporting the directx 11! To give you some perspective on where we've come from the Intel Atom N550 which has been the the standard for netbook processor is also dual core but runs at 1.5GHz vs the 1.0GHz of the C-50. Atom has also always relied upon integrated graphics from the Intel GMA 3150 at 200MHz while the AMD sports the Radeon HD 6250 at 280MHz. The other notable difference is that the C50 supports 4GB of DDR3 RAM where as the N550 can only handle 2GB. On a side note, in order to make this happen you also have to upgrade to a 64 bit Operating System. The TDP of the systems is also very interesting since the Atom N550 has a TDP of 8.5W and AMD's C-50 is checked in at 8W. We haven't posted our review of the NB550D but you can be sure we are going to let you know exactly how much power is being consumed during different tasks. We ran 3DMark06 and the C50 ran an impressive 1886 which is 120 points higher then the preproduction NB550D that was benchmarked earlier this month. It should also be noted at that the 3DMark06 score did not change at all when the unit was upgraded to 4GB or RAM.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 Review + Benchmarks and Temperature: This is our full review to the newly released NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1.25GB Video Card including specs, features, benchmarks and temperature. NVIDIA launched their GF110 chip in the form of the GeForce GTX 580 just a month ago which was basically a "fixed" GF100 chip with some improvements. It is a great card with lower power consumption and higher performance than the previous generation GeForce GTX 480 but with the EOL of the GeForce GTX 480 card there was a gap between the GTX 580 and the GTX 470 in price. If you might remember, NVIDIA launched the GTX 480 with 480 enabled CUDA cores. At the same time they launched a second card, the GeForce GTX 470, with 448 CUDA cores, which meant it had one SM (Shader Multiprocessor) disabled. Logically, the second chip in the stable, the GF110 could also have a SM disabled to form another card, and that is today's launch, the GeForce GTX 570 card which is to the 580 what a 470 was to the 480. The chips used on both cards are identical and the feature set of the two cards is the same as well. Sprint is making a really big deal about the EVO 4G being the first smartphone in America with 4G cellular data, but should that really be a selling point? As you'll see in this video after taking a look at some of the speeds we clocked with this device, the 4G isn't really ready for prime time, and if you're considering this phone, you shouldn't let the 4G woo you. In our testing, there are three problems with the 4G: - The speeds are only about 2x faster than 3G, which doesn't translate into significantly faster browsing. - The signal reliability is lower than 3G, meaning that in order to get a fast connection, you need full bars. Also, the strength of the signal doesn't stay consistent. - The 4G network is only in a handful of cities right now, and we're still a couple of years away from ubiquity Overall, the 4G is nice to have for the future, but it's not really a compelling feature today.
