Arthur Petersen was a paratrooper/machinegunner in World War II. He jumped out of a plane with a machine gun in his arms at Normandy, D-Day, and the Battle of the Bulge. He has two Purple Hearts, two Presidential Citations and other medals too numerous too mention. He is one of two soldiers still alive from the 101st Airborne Division. During his tours, Arthur was shot twice. The second time he almost lost his left leg. But the wound he still feels most strongly could never be treated in a hospital.
