The Maserati Biturbo is a sports car introduced by Maserati in 1981. The Biturbo features a 2.5L V-6 SOHC engine that develops 185hp @ 5500rpm with two turbochargers (similar to that of the BMW 3 Series (E21) cars of the time) and a luxurious interior. The car was designed by Pierangelo Andreani, an engineer from the De Tomaso team, influenced by the design of the newer Quattroporte III (Italdesign Giugiaro). Peak torque of 208lb-ft at a low 3000RPM, with a weight of around 2700lbs. The Biturbo has a 5-speed manual ZF transmission. The front suspension is MacPherson strut, and the rear is an independent semi-trailing arm design. Large non-ventilated ATE disc brakes are at the front and rear, with 4 piston fixed calipers up front, and 14" 4-bolt wheels. MTM Audi RS6 Clubsport V10 Biturbo 730 hp Powerslide Acceleration 0-60 3.3 sec Vmax 227 mph
A short clip of me driving MTM's amazing 730 hp Audi RS6 Clubsport. This car does 0-60 mph in the low 3's, 0-125 mph in 11 seconds, 0-186 mph in 33 seconds (faster than Corvette ZR1) and has a GPS confirmed top speed Vmax of 227 MPH (set at Nardo). Unfortunately my time with this car was limited so I spent more time enjoying the drive than filming it. As a result, the video isn't all that great, SORRY! Needless to say, it's an amazing and very fast sedan. Similarities with other vehicles, for example with the legendary Audi V8 DTM edition of the years 90 and 91 can not be excluded -- that seems to be the message of the MTM RS6 Clubsport, which the Audi specialist and refiner MTM from Wettstetten/Ingolstadt is bringing out now. With a Power/Weight ratio of 2.65 Kg/PS, the sport interpretation of the RS6 stands far ahead of the former winner series' car which brought with its four-wheel drive tears in the eyes of the adversary. Company director Roland Mayer also seems to succeed in this, holding the record for station wagons (344,2 km/h) with the MTM RS6 R and presenting the RS6 R to the on board competition supercars mostly from back view in Nardo at the Highspeed event. The aim is now, 350 km/h, where the MTM RS6 Clubsport has more power and less weight than the others. The result: more than 730 HP, around 860 Nm of torque and weight just under two tons. I saw this unbelievable fast Porsche at the Nürburgring, while the VLN races were at the track. The owner told me that this Porsche isn't just a GT3 RS. It's a 9ff tuned GT3 RS. Called "9ff Gturbo 1000 GT3 RS Biturbo" That means it has got 970 hp! When it's accelerating you can hear this is not a stock Porsche. What an awesome sound! The owner made an awesome flyby and drift, which I unfortunately couldn't capture because I saw it to late.. I was lucky the owner revved it and accelerated away from the famous petrol station! www.eurocarnews.com - Mercedes Benz AG - In the new V8, Mercedes-Benz engineers achieved a high output from a lower displacement primarily by using one turbocharger for each bank of cylinders. The intake air is forced into the eight combustion chambers at an overpressure of up to 0.9 bar, with the turbine blades rotating at up to 190000 rpm. The turbochargers and their hot gas ducting are accommodated on the outsides of the cylinder heads. This enables the intercooler module with its air intercooler and charge-air distributor to be located inside the V of the engine -- a solution which Mercedes-Benz engineers found to be advantageous following a long series of tests. This is confirmed by the output and fuel consumption figures achieved in practice. The Mercedes-Benz engine designers configured the turbochargers to provide high torque even at low engine speeds. Compared to the previous engine, the result is an increase in torque at 2000 rpm by more than 45 percent. An outstanding 700 Nm is available between 1600 and 4750 rpm. The driver therefore perceives no turbo lag, but experiences the same pleasant and effortless performance from the new V8 as that delivered by a mighty, naturally aspirated 7-litre engine. The engine is based on a diecast aluminium crankcase with aluminium/silicon cylinder liners.
