Volkswagen of America has unveiled its new pre-order program and put up its first offering - the 2012 VW Beetle Black Turbo edition. The Black Turbo Edition 2012 Beetle will be available only through the pre-order program and will be limited to a run of just 600 units. The Black Turbo comes with a 2.0 liter TFSI turbocharged unit with 200 bhp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque coupled to the DSG gearbox. Special features include the 18-inch alloy wheels with red calipers, rear spoiler, fog lights and a black finish for the exterior. On the inside is a three-color ambient lighting, sport cloth seat upholstery and an extra "kaeferfach" glovebox similar to that of the original Beetle. A down-payment of $495 is required for the pre-order which goes towards the purchase price of $24950. Note: Attached photos below are the standard 2012 Beetle Turbo. Volkswagen will run two new ads during the Super Bowl Sunday broadcast on American television. Volkswagen of America will pay dearly to air two 30-second spots - one for the all-new North American Passat model and one for the 2012 Beetle - which will run during the second and fourth quarters of the game. The Passat commercial features a Star Wars theme and was produced with the help of Lucasfilm Ltd., George Lucas' production company. The visuals are accompanied by the well-known "Imperial March" music by film composer John Williams. The ad shows a child dressed as Darth Vader summoning the "Force" upon discovering a Passat in the driveway. The other spot for the all-new 2012 VW Beetle features a CGI-generated black beetle who reigns supreme in the forest. The soundtrack includes a new rendition of the famed rock song "Black Betty" by Jon Spencer and the Blues Explosion. The ads are the work of Volkswagen of America's agency Deutsch LA Inc. The Super Bowl takes place on Sunday February 6th.

I love how the American Black Ranger is deathly afraid of bugs, and the Zyu2 Black Ranger is the first to attack the Stag Beetle single-handedly...all the while screaming "I HATE BUGS!" There was a lot of American Stag Beetle footage with the "Z Putties" that I had to cut out...rumor has it there was Zyu2 footage of the Stag Beetle with the Zyuranger "Golem" Putties, which obviously couldn't be used.
