MALCOLM X: OUR HISTORY WAS DESTROYED BY SLAVERY

The Complete Malcolm X on DVD: malcolmxfiles.blogspot.com Rare color footage of Malcolm X appearing on a television show in Chicago called "City Desk" on March 17, 1963. "My father didn't know his last name. My father got his last name from his grandfather and his grandfather got it from his grandfather who got it from the slavemaster. The real names of our people were destroyed during slavery. The last name of my forefathers was taken from them when they were brought to America and made slaves, and then the name of the slavemaster was given, which we refuse, we reject that name today and refuse it. I never acknowledge it whatsoever." malcolmxfiles.blogspot.com

UNTOLD BLACK HISTORY: The Black Chinese: DNA test... Case Closed

Ancient Black Chinese From East Africa — (by PROFESSOR JIN LI - Fudan University Shanghai) An international study has found that the Chinese people originated not from Peking Man in northern China, but from early humans in East Africa who moved through South Asia to China some 100000 years ago, Hong Kongs Ming Pao daily reported yesterday in a finding that confirms the single origin theory in anthropology. According to the newspaper, a research team led by Jin Li (of Fudan University in Shanghai has found that modern humans evolved from a single origin, not multiple origins as some experts believe. In China, school textbooks teach that the Chinese race evolved from Peking Man, based on a theory that humans in Europe and Asia evolved from local species. But Jin and his fellow researchers found that early humans belonged to different species, of which only the East African species developed into modern humans. This new finding nullifies the theory that the ancestors of the Chinese people were Peking Man who lived in northern China 400000 years ago. Based on DNA analyses of 100000 samples gathered from around the world, a number of human families evolved in East Africa some 150000 years ago, said Li Hui, a member of Jins team. About 100000 years ago, some of those humans began to leave Africa, with some people moving to China via South and Southeast Asia, Li said. According to the newspaper article, it has been proven that the 65 branches of the Chinese race share similar ...

I Hate Black History Month

alright, let me put it out there that i'm Jewish. The Jews were also enslaved and not to mention most of us were killed off by Hitler. Now, I have no problem whatsoever with Egyptians or Germans or even Arabs for that matter. I don't want a Jewish month or anything either. Some Jews might, but i don't. So, if that helps me seem a little less racist or a little more relatable to blacks, there you go. I know that the holocaust happened in Germany, not America, for all of you saying that it happened in Germany. I know. Let me also clarify that I don't want to get rid of black history, I want to get rid of black history month. I think black history should be incorporated into school lessons, so that it's just thought of as American history.

Black History: The Missing Chapters in American History

www.degvideo.com In 2008 a black man was elected president, and although Barack Obama was the top student in his Harvard law class, there is still the impact felt by lack of African American history taught in the public school system curriculum. Growing up in America most students go through the school system learning the history that has made this country so proud and great. Black history is American history, and it still remains the part of our history that is being taught sparingly, leading the next generation of American children to be disconnected from the great strides we have made as American people. This film takes a closer look at this issue and how we can use education as a springboard in order to fill some of these historical gaps.

American Soul: The DuSable Museum of African-American History

Founded in 1961, the DuSable is one of the first African-American museums in the country. The museum follows African-American history from its beginning on the shores of Africa to a celebration of African-American achievements including Bessie Coleman, the nations first black female aviator; World War II Tuskegee airmen; Major Robert Lawrence, the nations first black astronaut; and Harold Washington, Chicagos first black mayor. The museum is dedicated to the collection, preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of the history and culture of Africans and Americans of African descent. Weaving themes of art, history, and diversity, it also tells us Whats American about Americans? and What Shall I Tell My Children who are Black? Enjoy the DuSables treasures and think on the distorted images we have been given, ultimately learning why the children shall lead us.
