Tendo como objetivo principal comemorar o Dia Internacional Da Dança, a Secretaria Municipal de Cultura / FUNDART em parceria com Escola Municipal de Dança Iracema Nogueira e SESC, ambos da cidade de Araraquara, realizaram na última quarta-feira (28), diversas apresentações de danças com grupos da cidade de Araraquara e Região. O dia 29 de abril é a data definida pelo CONSELHO INTERNACIONAL DE DANÇA (CID), uma organização interna da UNESCO, tendo como Presidente Prof. Alkis Raftis para comemoração ao DIA INTERNACIONAL DA DANÇA. Esta data comemora o nascimento de JEAN-GEORGES NOVERRE (1.727-1.810), o criador do Balé Moderno, sendo oficializada em 1.982. As atividades realizadas no SESC tiveram como meta reunir todas as escolas de dança, academias, companhias, grupos e projetos sociais de Araraquara e região (públicas e particulares) que desenvolvem esta arte, para comemoração desta data, assim como a troca de experiências, conhecimentos e principalmente criação de laços de amizade e respeito a todas as manifestações da DANÇA.
