Video from Jan 2003 Int'l Society of Explosive Engineers (ISEE) conference in Las Vegas. It is one of four such "year end highlight videos" produced by Protec/Implosionworld for the annual conference between 1999 & 2003. Approximately 70 implosions from 2002 are seen through our photographer's unique persective... which sometimes involved losing a few cameras. Unfortunately the ISEE eventually alienated the structural blasting component of the society, so these highlight videos were discontinued. Implosionworld's footage is now mostly seen on Discovery Channel and Nat Geo documentaries, etc. NOTE: 9/11 conspiracy folks & politicos save your time, this is not your forum. 20 years ago this spring, my mother and I tried out for Wheel of Fortune at Resorts in AC with 22000 others. Made it thru three weeks of cuts to become one of the 25 contestants selected for the nightime show, then flew to Hollywood and was crazy-lucky enough to become one of WOF's top-10 all-time winners at the time. This video shows highlights from the two-day appearance, including cameo's by "girlfriend" Lisa and pal Mike Foglia. The money was used to help establish Protec and buy beer-- two investments that are still paying dividends today. Of course the trade-off for this windfall was looking like a nervous tool on national TV....or maybe that's just me. Nevertheless, these factiods remain: a) The Ferrari won here is the actual car used in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" three years earlier, and for perspective $68000 in 1989 = $124000 today (2009) plus several K in lovely parting gifts. b) Both episodes were recorded on the same morning on the "game-show" soundstage at CBS Television City, and I was scolded for spinning the big Price Is Right wheel backstage during a set change (you can't just have it sitting there & expect folks not to spin it). c) Note how the day-1 puzzles weren't solved until every darn letter was visible, but knew all day-2 puzzles with just 1 or 2 letters. Yet won day-1 and lost day-2. So vexing, that fickle wheel.... d) The surreally memorable day continued with a 1pm Raiders-49ers game at the Coliseum, a 5pm pub crawl along walk of stars at <b>...</b>
