Artist at: www.facebook.com The "gAtari" was my excuse to do something a little silly after I discovered that the Atari 2600 was more limiting than I realized! (31 pitches, minimal waveforms and only 2 channels!) I needed an EQ which could take a high voltage and drop it down to line level (Boss bass EQ) plus a way to hold loops between tracks and parts (Boss delay). So rather than have it "DJ" style config, I thought I make something a little more creative. It uses my atari-x-mod converter software which compiles binary files for Atari. Standardization of Online Video Advertising is Essential, Blip.tv's Dina Kaplan.......Cool Adobe Overlay Ads are Live On Beet.TV! Dina Kaplan is the co-founder of Blip.tv, a two-year old video distribution and advertising network based in New York. She stopped by the studio earlier this month for a chat about how the industry is evolving. Blip has played an essential role in helping independent online video producers to distribute clips in a number of file formats and to make those clips searchable. Like YouTube and other sharing sites, the service is free to content creators. The company's monetization model involves selling advertising around the video clips and sharing revenue on a 50/50 basis. Beet.TV uses Blip as its primary video publishing and sharing platform. (We also use YouTube.) David and I think our videos are looking really good these days, particularly since we've been uploading in the super high-quality H.264 format. Blip has also been selling advertising for Beet.TV and I am really pleased to say that Dina and the crew have landed Adobe as an advertiser. Innovative overlay ads, created by Adobe's ad agency Goodby Silverstein, have begun to appear in all of our 500 videos. Blip Festival 2009... and Je deviens dj en 3 jours playing live. I heard this set and was totally blown away by the energy and awesomeness from one Gameboy DMG. I've been talking to JDDJ3J since this gig and he mentioned that the majority of this video is of an Untitled tune he was working on in the days running up to Blip. Well!! For me this moment was the highlight of Blip... not in a dancing way, but in a "stunned" with a camera way. It doesn't get much better than this! ;-)

What most don't know about the original TR-808, aside from it's original voices (sounds) there is a "pulse" sound that you can hear when plugging a cable from the ACcent trigger out, it generates a metallic "zap" sound very similar to a Hi Q (sound from the Roland R-8) This sound was used in "Egypt Egypt" and "Funkbox" from Masterdon. THIS IS HOW THE SOUND IS DONE!!!!
