The lace up corset: a slideshow of French postcards etc

Historical photos of women wearing lace up corsets, picked up from all over the web, mainly French postcards but also other pre-1930 pics (staylace.com is good). Not in chronological order, I'm afraid. A lot of people seem fascinated by the objects, although unlike a Kylie or Madonna, most of these women wore them over a chemise (or often, later, combinations and, later still, camiknickers). It is, however, an interesting bit of social history.(Scenes where someone has their foot in the small of someone else's back were meant as a joke - I hope. The pic at 4mins 35secs has obviously been faked.)

Forging A Bodkin Arrow Head

Showing My summer smithy, starting up the forge with the classic flint and steel fire kit and forging a bodkin arrow head. This video was made on two different days, take a look at the hair cut :) This is probably the most light weight set up I can work with when in the field.. I decided to start learning how to light a fire with flint & steel when I tried to hide a PINK lighter in public on a viking age fair :)

Islip Town Hall meeting Councilman Christopher Bodkin is asleep.

When Supervisor Nolan (D) and councilman Christopher Bodkin (D) and their allies that sit on the town board were asked by fellow councilman Steve Flotteron (R) to take a small pay cut and to contribute to their health insurance cost, THEY SAID "NO" Christopher Bodkin was just about asleep. They did this by having no other board member second the motions that he raised in the video (Resolution 19, 20 and 21). Members of the Conservative Society for Action including my self attended the Islip Town Board meeting on October 14, 2009. Steve Flotteron feels high-level town employees should share in the burden of a tough economy. He presented three resolutions: 1) High-paid officials should accept a temporary 10% cut in salary; 2) High-paid employees should contribute 15% of their cost of health insurance; and 3) Recent raises for high-paid officials should be rolled back. The three resolutions were defeated because NO other town board member would even second the motions. In short, Islip Town will balance the budget on the backs of their lowest-paid employees (regular people just like me and you) while giving out raises to high-level officials. If this wasn't bad enough the town is hiring approximately 40 new employees and is un-willing to reposition the ones that are getting cut. It is believed that these 40 new employees are politically connected to Christopher Bodkin as well as Phil Nolan (Town Supervisor) and this is a means for them to provide their people with those cushy ...
