Sorry for the low volume! This is a perfect example of why widescreen sucks: it cuts off the forehead and/or chin of the actor (and in close up often both at the same time) making it difficult to enjoy a movie when you're distracted by missing body parts. Except for the prostitute's, everyone's head is cut off. The hand interaction between actor and actress is here completely lost making this scene, from a directorial point of view, totally useless and from an audience viewpoint rather frustrating. The average person's eyesight is vertically oriented, not horizontally! Widescreen makes movies cheap-looking and an audience can easily miss 50% of the action either watching the left side of the screen and missing the right or vice-versa. Watching a movie should not be akin to attending a live tennis match! Wondering if anyone has ever sued (a theater? a director?) for whiplash injuries... ---------------------Trivia------------------ Notice how the actor is holding his chin with alternate hands each time the camera cuts back to him. Done on purpose by the director to spoof (bad?) Bollywood movies and make this one into a "so bad it's good" flick or gross continuity error? You decide! (As for me I can't imagine a director being that incompetent, but considering the major widescreen fail here, I'd say anything is possible so your guess is as good as mine.)
