Bookmans Bandsaw Mill is made especially for the hobbyist woodworker, custom designed by Pacific Northwest woodworker and inventor Stan Bookman. Bookmans Bandsaw Mill is half the weight and half the cost of traditional bandsaw mills. It is designed to roll smoothly and evenly on an easy-to-build base made of 2x4's of any length. The customized mill is powered by the motor of your choice (6.5, 11, 13 or 16 horsepower motor). It has a mechanical clutch to engage the blade off or on. The blade is raised up or down with the use of a hand winch. An adjustable pointer and ruler allow you to set the thickness of the cut.

Evanston is the closest-in of Chicago's North Shore suburbs and its downtown rivals almost any neighborhood in Chicago as a classically urban environment. Earlier this morning I met Andy Kiener at Grand Bend at Green Bay, at the edge of downtown, for a walking tour of downtown. In the first part of our tour, we started with a look at Grand Bend, where Andy's overseeing sales, and then walked a block and a half to the Farmers Market. We moved on to the corner of Church St & Maple Ave for a look at the vibrant shopping, dining and nightlife scene that's developed downtown. We continued east to Sherman Ave for a look at more dining, nightlife and shopping options, and continue on to Fountain Square. Our tour concludes in this segment with a visit to Bookman's Alley, a restaurant row, and a roof deck at Grand Bend at Green Bay.

Bookmans presents the Kids Need to Read Geek Prom! Just as the sun set and you thought Phoenix Comicon 2010 was over, the geeks came out to party! Hosted at the Hyatt Regency, special guests Felicia Day (The Guild) and Wil Wheaton (Star Trek TNG) joined us to hang out and crown our Geek King and Queen. Everyone rocked out to the sounds of No Big Deal and Brain Cage! It was an amazing geeked out event. All the proceeds went to Kids Need To Read, a foundation that works to create a culture of reading for children by providing inspiring books to under-funded schools, libraries, and literacy programs in the US Special thanks to the celeb guests, bands and everyone that helped to make this an awesome event!
