~Authentic BottleNeck Slide Guitar~ This is the sound of Jesse James' hideout in 1871

To play great sounding Folk or Blues music you don't need a dobro or resonator or special guitar, there is no need for a special slide, and you don't need some special theory or training or manuals.......watch as I as I play some 1870's American Folk music with a bottle neck...perhaps if you rode up on the Jesse James' hide out you'd hear this music coming from thier back porch???? If you want to learn more, visit www.3-string-guitar.com and learn everything about cigar box guitars ....or just Google Red Dog Guitars. This guitar also sounds the way it does because it has an internal pickup, there is nothing at all wrong with a magnetic pickup or humbucker, I do use them sometimes...but you will always sound modern and never really achieve that vintage sound with one. This pickup is made by JJB electronics, it is leaps and bounds better than any other cigar box guitar pickup in the world...belive me I am not blowing smoke, ...just go back, hit the play button and listen for your self....if you build or want to play cigar box guitar or acoustic guitar head on over to his website, the 20 or 30 bucks you spend will make you 10 times happier than any other pickup....there is nothing wrong with soldering or homemaking a radio shack buzzer pickup or converting a piezo, that's totally fun!!!... but if you want to reach back in time, you need something made specifically for great sound...it's up to you, it's just a few dollars for a great sounding guitar...it's all about the tone <b>...</b>

The early Blues Masters of the 1920s and 30s, would place a bottleneck from a wine bottle, or a short piece of metal pipe on their finger. Using this as a slide, they could move up and down along the strings of a guitar imitating singing or the cries and moans of the human voice. This style uses an early method of tuning the guitar called open tuning, that is also used to play banjo. The guitar is tuned to a D or E chord, that actually makes it easier to learn music theory. The course starts with learning to play single note melody lines on one string. Next, by adding a second note harmony is created. Then a third note creates chords. The final song is embellished by adding strumming techniques and bottleneck slide. THIS CD WILL NOT ONLY TEACH YOU HOW TO PLAY BOTTLENECK GUITAR, BUT HOW TO CREATE AND ARRANGE SONGS. The Blues songs presented on this cd are in the style of Robert Johnson, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Tommy Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Howlin' Wolf, and Muddy Waters .Traditional Country Gospel songs are also taught because they were a major influence in the development of the Blues. Rock Island Line by Huddie Leadbelly Ledbetter Bottleneck Slide Blues Guitar

Rock Island Line by Huddie Leadbelly Ledbetter performed by Keni Lee Burgess on Commercial Street in Provencetown Mass. Cape Cod 2008. Huddie Ledbetter, better known to the music world as "Lead Belly" was born January 20, 1889, in Mooringsport, Louisiana (near Shreveport). Huddie was legendary for picking 1000 lbs of cotton a day, and lining the railroad tracks. While it is claimed the song refers to the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, the song is considerably older than the first recording, and from some of the lyrics it can be interpreted that the "railroad" is the Underground Railroad, a slave escape route.

Li-Ion Battery Bottleneck - Autoline Daily 502

Big news for electric vehicles. GM is showing the Volt to automotive journalists this week and Nissan is letting them drive the LEAF next week. Another hurdle EVs face is a shortage of machines that make lithium-ion batteries. The Volkswagen/Porsche merger is taking a little bit longer to go through than we thought. All that and more, plus a look at the exterior design of the 2011 Volvo S60.

Crossroads by Robert Johnson Delta Blues Bottleneck Slide Guitar

Crossroads by Robert Johnson performed by Keni Lee Burgess busking in Provencetown, Mass. Cape Cod. Spanish tuning (515135) Key of F (CFCfac). According to a legend known to modern Blues fans, Robert Johnson was a young black man living on a plantation in rural Mississippi. Branded with a burning desire to become a great blues musician, he was instructed to take his guitar to a crossroad near Dockery's plantation at midnight. There he was met by a large black man (the Devil) who took the guitar from Johnson and tuned it, giving him mastery of the guitar, and handed it back to him in return for his soul. Within less than a year's time, in exchange for his everlasting soul, Robert Johnson became the king of the Delta blues singers, able to play, sing, and create the greatest blues anyone had ever heard.

SOLD! Sound Sample Prison art Bottleneck Blues Guitar

SOLD! Thank you to the winning bidder. Vintage Dobro Parlor Guitar Prison Art Bottleneck Blues I purchased this guitar from the "Memphis Music Hall of Fame" Museum in Memphis Tennessee. It includes a signed "Certificate of Authenticity" from the Museum Director in 2003 that reads: AUTHENTIC "Dobro Reproduction Metal Guitar" Created by a Joliet Prison Inmate Also includes a press release letter documenting the closing of the museum in 2001. Although this guitar is listed as a Dobro, it contains no resonator. It has a round neck and is set up to be played like a standard guitar. Great for Bottleneck Slide style guitar 36 1/2 inches long 13 inch lower bout 9 inch upper bout 3/8 inch string height at 12th fret open geared tuners open head stock neck attached at 12th fret heavy steel constructed body steel bolt for bridge National style tailpiece 1950? Kent pickup with jack in lower bout (recently installed) button strap endpin No case If only this guitar could talk. Can you imagine the story it might tell! I am assuming the guitar was made in the prison metal shop. The neck appears to be consistent with the manufactured styles made in the 1930s. The body's parlor shape and design also seems to be from this period. It is possible that the original wooden body got destroyed, and was used as a pattern to create this guitar in steel. It may be that the builder made the guitar to resemble the steel bodied Dobro guitars that were popular during the 1930s. Learn to Play Bottleneck <b>...</b>
