Breaking News - Woman Burned Alive In New York Lift
Police are hunting a man who burned a woman to death by ambushing her in a lift, spraying her with a flammable liquid and then setting her alight - in an attack caught on CCTV. He entered the elevator dressed as a pest controller, wearing gloves, with a protective mask on his head and a container on his back in Brooklyn, New York. He then went to the fifth floor and lay in wait for his victim, Delores Gillespie, who was returning home from shopping. The attacker is reported to have first glued shut the locks on the woman's apartment and then doused the lift door with accelerant. As she opened it, the man sprayed her in the face, then covered her from head to toe with what an official said was an accelerant. Ms Gillespie, 64, crouched down and threw her hands up to her face, as shopping bags dangled from her arms. Having cornered the woman in the lift, the attacker then ignited a Molotov cocktail - a wine bottle filled with accelerant with a rag stuffed in its neck. And suddenly the video went white as the woman was set on fire using the bottle's wick. The man, who appeared to be in his 40s, then threw the bottle inside the lift, after crouching behind the door "as if he was anticipating an explosion," one policeman said. Preliminary reports are indicating that a 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Virginia at 1:51 pm EDT., according to the USGS. Shaking has been reported as far north as New York. Reports of shaking have also been coming in from the New England area. According to the USGS, a magnitude 5.5 Eastern US earthquake can typically be felt as far as 300 miles away. The USGS reported that epicenter of the quake was located in Louisa, Va. just southeast of Charlottesville and northwest of Richmond. To most around the world still unsure what or why this has happened let me take this opportunity to explain. There was an incident last week concerning another police shooting. This time the individual was a young black male by the name of Mark Duggan. Now police stated that a gun was found in his possession as well as bullets, but they did not discover this until mark had been shot and searched as he did not fire back. The Bahraini military has opened machinegun fire on protesters who were trying to reach hospital, injuring hundreds, in what appears to be an attempted massacre, medics say. The Army has prevented ambulances and medics from reaching those wounded amid massive pro-democracy protests in Bahrain, Dr. Ghasam, a resident at Salmaniyeh hospital in Manama, told Press TV on Friday. He said that the protesters were marching to hospital in silence to visit those wounded in the previous rallies, when they were ambushed by troops waiting near the hospital. "They did not even chant anti-government slogans, they wanted to visit those injured on Thursday," Dr. Ghasem said. He maintained that the massacre was planned in advance. "We need help! Our staff is entirely overwhelmed. They are shooting at people's heads. Not at the legs. People are having their brains blown out," Dr. Ghasam said. He also compared the situation at the hospital to a war zone. Bahraini lawmaker Ali al-Aswad, who was at the hospital at the time of incident, also told Press TV that the army has prevented the medical staff from reaching those injured and urged the Bahraini authorities to stop killing their own people. According to the Bahraini lawmaker, nearly 700 army troops are stationed near the hospital. Following the violence, Bahrain's crown prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa promised to start a national dialogue, once calm returns.
