A Sea of Grass. Losers, featuring Brian Molko "Summertime Rolls" (Edited Brian Molko Tribute Video)

This one is a great collaboration between English post-punk & electronic band "Losers" and Placebo's frontman, Brian Molko. This track features the very special guest Brian, singing on Losers cover of Janes Addiction's Summertime Rolls', the instrumental of which Eddy and Tom sent to Brian to consider putting the vocals onto. The original song, by Jane's Addiction, appears on their album "Nothing's Shocking". To quote... "Within 24 hours of hearing the track, Brian called the Losers to threaten them....." If you let anyone else sing on this track I'll have them killed!" lol! This is another self made Tribute video, not only for one of Brian's best collaborations, but also to highlight Losers' music. I hope you enjoy this one. Many thanks for stopping by. Tribute video only. All artwork & material are the property of their relevant owners. Brian Molko - Five Years [HQ]

Cover of David Bowie's ''Five Years'' LYRICS: Pushing thru the market square So many mothers sighing News had just come over We had five years left to cry in News guy wept and told us He said 'earth was really dying' Cried so much his face was wet Then I knew he was not lying I heard telephones, opera house, favourite melodies There were boys, toys electric irons and TV's My brain hurt like a warehouse, it had no room to spare I had to cram so many things to store everything in there And all the fat-skinny people And all the tall-short people And all the nobody people And all the somebody people Never thought I'd need so many people A girl my age went off her head Hit some tiny children If the black hadn't a-pulled her off And I think she would have killed them A soldier with a broken armfixed His stare to the wheels of a Cadillac A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest And a queer threw up at the sight of that Well, I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour Drinking milk shakes cold and long Smiling and waving and looking so fine Don't think you knew you were in this song And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor And I thought of Ma and I wanted to get back there Your face, your race, the way that you talk I miss you, you're beautiful We've got five years, stuck on my eyes Five years, what a surprise We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot Five years, that's all we've got We've got Five years.
Placebo Brian Molko french interview with TRANSLATION ! 2009

Many thanks to 'rentedsoul' who translated the entire dialogue!! There you go: Reporter: You were born in Bruxelles? Is it true? Brian: Yes, it's true. How come you ask this so directly? R: Because I always read you were born there. B: Yes, yes, almost 37 years ago. But I don't really remember it. We didn't stay there for a very long time, so I don't remember living In Belgium. So, when I return to Bruxelles, because I don't have this recollection about living there, It's not really a place with a big resonance for me. B: I am not saying something bad about it, I am just saying that people often ask me if that place means something to me, but I don't remember, not very much anyway. R: In Belgium It's a custom to say that when you descend in the South you have a great time, but when you go to Luxemburg, you get bored. That was good for you, because that's the reason you started playing the guitar. B: Yes, exactly. It's true that in the 80's it was very boring in Lux. B: Stefan and i , our reaction was to lock ourselves in our rooms, listening to lots of music and learning to play instruments. This idea of escaping that boredom pushed us to have this determination of doing smth artistic with our lives. But we were separated. We were in the same country, going to the same school, but we weren't friends. So our lives were quite similar and when we found each other in London by accident, Voila! R: [says smth about the band being a second family] B: Yes, it's just like a ...

Losers feat. Brian Molko, Summertime Rolls (with english lyric in YT description box).

LYRIC: Fell into a sea of grass and disappeared among, the shady blades... Children all ran over me, screaming tag! You are the one! He trips her as her sandals fail. She says Stop! I'm a girl whose fingernails are made of mother's pearl... Yellow buttercup, helicopters, orange buttercat, chasing after, the crazy bee, mad about somebody... Me and my girlfriend don't wear no shoes. Her nose is painted pepper sunlight. She loves me, I mean it's serious as serious can be. She sings a song and I listen to what it says: If you want a friend, feed any animal. There was so much space I cut me a piece with some fine wine. It brought peace to my mind in the summertime and it rolled. Summer, summertime rolls. Me and my girlfriend we don't wear no clothes you know. Her nose is pepper sunlight, I love her, I mean it's so so serious as serious can be.
Indochine - Pink Water 2 (feat. Brian Molko)

Lyrics: Sky, I'm gonna leave tonight You know, I've got a life to live And it's getting late So... I'm gonna leave tonight I can't decide if I'm the one you need Or what you want out of life I always thought you'd be the one to leave The one to change your mind I'm on a rocket to a dying star You have to stay behind Can't take you with me 'cause it's very far And you don't have the time (Get me out of this place) (Get me out of this place) (Get me out of this place) Sky, I'm gonna leave tonight You know, I've got a life to live And it's getting late So I'm gonna leave tonight I can't decide if I'm the one you need Or what you want out of life I always thought you'd be the one to leave The one to change your mind I'm on a rocket to a dying star You have to stay behind Before I met you I was crushing cars And I was doing fine Get me out of this place Get me out of this town Before I drown in your deep pink water I won't remember your face I can't remember your frown Because I'll drown in your deep pink water Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Sky (six...five) I'm gonna leave tonight (four...three) You know (two...one) I've got a life to live And it's getting late I'm on a rocket to a dying star You have to stay behind Can't take you with me 'cause it's very far And you don't have the time I'm on a rocket to a dying star You have to stay behind Before I met you I was crushing cars And I was doing fine Get me out of this place Get me out of this town Before I drown in your deep pink ...
