The Seven Mile Bridge is a famous bridge in the Florida Keys, in Monroe County, Florida, United States. It runs over a channel between the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Strait, connecting Knight's Key (part of the city of Marathon, Florida) in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. Among the longest bridges in existence when it was built, it is one of the many bridges on US 1 in the Keys, where the road is called the Overseas Highway.( Wikipedia )

Redfish and I fished Bay Bridge, MD for striper on July 10th. I started to fish hours before Redfish arrived. While waiting for Redfish, I caught 4 big spot and a small white perch on Fish-Bites. Later I gave up live-lining because I thought the bait were too big for summer striper I witnessed a guy catching 3 striper at 17-23" for 2 hours. He went back and forth many pilings. I thought he was darn good until Redfish came. Red fish caught many striper (about 10). Few times while I pointed the camera to him with anticipation of the hook up, he actually set the hook. Watching him catching striper while anticipating his next hook up was more entertaining than my fishing.

This is the river at Carson Bridge. Its view is wonderful, the water is very clear and best of all there's big trout in the water. This is a great family fishing spot. There's a cabin resort 2 minutes away by car with a market, 15 minutes away from South Lake Tahoe. Also restrooms 2 minutes away. The whole family can hike, walk or fish along the river for miles.

Live-lined spot (baitfish) for Striper (Striped Bass) under Bay Bridge, MD. Got a good fishing tip from Redfish. I had a good plan. All I had to do was execute the plan. I launched from the sandy area next to Hemingway's Restaurant in Kent Island. Caught a lot of spot in the shallow water, in 6' of water by the shore. Went through the pilings, starting from 15' of water. I found striper (on Fishfinder) by the piling #41 (one in 22'-25' of water, not the one in 10' of water). Found later that I could also catch spot next to piling #41. It looks striper will be available from now on, and so do spot and bluefish. Joe

July 1st 2011, Greart sunny day at Sandy Point, MD. A fisherman caught a 16 pounder Cownose Ray using pieces of spot fish as bait, that he had caught using Bloodworms. He spent about 15 minutes pulling the fish... He claims that he built his own one piece rod. He left right after this catch and seeing him wrapping up tells how much he loves and takes care of his fishing gear...

The reason we use this heavy tackle is because in this place and many others like it, the Snook sometimes run ENORMOUS and when you hook Monster Snook around razor sharp barnacle encrusted structure, more ofter than not, the really big Snook will wrap you up and cut you off faster than you can say what happened? Of course you can land Monster Snook on lighter tackle on the beach, inlets, passes, and on an open flat, but Monster Snook don't spend a large amount of time in these locations.
