We decided to develop it into a little bit of a theme. The soundtrack sucks because we made it on the fly in garage band. Under a perfectly sunny sky at Squaw Valley USA competitors made their best attempts to get to the far side of Cushing pond. Squaw Valley Ca opened it's famous KT-22 chairlift which accesses some of the best in-bounds terrain in The world. Including the extra gnar chute/cliff area known as "The Fingers". Alongside of the technicality of these lines comes the added dread/delight of having a chairlift run directly overhead. John Parker charged an early season run, and lost a pole in the act. Monday at the latest.*** On January 3rd, 2011 Danny Toumarkine took a horrible fall while snowboarding in Montana. Danny was care flighted to a local hospital where he spent the next 33 days. During his time at the hospital Danny underwent 4 brain surgeries as a result of impact trauma to the left side of his head. Danny is very lucky to be alive. This video is a trailer to the full length video which will be released on January 10th, 2012. It documents the time before and after the injury and will come out a week after Danny's return to the snow. This week we were lucky enough to get our project fully funded on Kickstarter.com. We celebrated by taking some of the lightest pow turns we have ever had in Tahoe up at Mt. Rose. The snow disappeared quickly and we were forced to kill time and shred at the resort. Boreal was one of the first resorts on the west coast to open so we headed there for some hot laps. It was a fun first week but one filled with anticipation of something bigger on the way.

This weeks Shredit has a very unique look/feel,mostly due to the fact that a banger storm nailed the Tahoe Basin with 99 inches of fresh pow during the middle of the filming session. Kelly KaPOWski!!! Wow! None of the Shreddy Times riders could foresee the awesomefest that was about to ensue... Opening day at Northstar looked like most early season ride sessions...minimal snow coverage. Good thing The Shreddy Times crew gets maximum coverage at all times. Railing, high fives and good vibes must have enticed the snow goddesses. With the promise of multiple systems rolling through the area, Shreddy Times woke up to thigh high snow piles. Opening day at Squaw Valley was a different world compared to the day before at Northstar. Low Temps kept snow as fresh as a new Tubulur neckpiece. One day of powder would have been Shred sufficient, however, everyday, for four days, ShredHeads woke up to a virtual snowglobe that Just wouldn't quit...there was snow in my bed. All of this and we hadn't even Shredded any turkey yet.

He raised the bar with his unprecedented ropeswing triple backflip into the Truckee River. In case you missed it, the release point on this particular rope swing was 60 feet high, and Mike was over land for a majority of the jump...until he somehow torpedoed into the narrow "window of opportunity" section of the river. Wilson stomped, stomped, and stomped some more...to which you would think he would go home and rest. Not the case. Wilson's a Beast! Instead of patting himself on the back while claiming illest rope swing/extremist in the western hemisphere, Mike Wilson lost sleep, weight and sanity thinking about how he was going to one-up himself. The creative wheels started turning and the hit was on...Wilson concocted a quadruple back flip off a 99 foot rope swing into the royal blue depths of Lake Tahoe. With the unique combination of childlike eagerness and calculated focus, Mike crafted a pulley system conducive to rocking a quadruple back flip. A four-day shoot session started with a California sunrise and Subway sandwiches...hand-delivered by Wilson's Mom! The events that took place between Sunrise, Day 1 and Sunset, Day 4 were out of control. The Shreddy Times Crew scoured the lake/cliffs to get, the, shots. Danny and his brother Conor had shared a dream of creating a season long snowboarding video for nearly 15 years. After starting a production company called Shreddy Times in 2007, together they documented Danny's path to stardom within the snowboard industry. While filming in Montana, with a group of close friends, Danny fell on a routine jump and hit his head. After nearly two weeks in a medically induced coma, four brain surgeries and thirty-three days later, Danny was discharged from the hospital.
