My uncle and I went to Quainton Road for the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre's end of season gala, where they had every available loco active. The only Loco that wasn't in steam was their beattie Wells tank. Metropolitan No.1, Coventry No.1, 0-4-0 shunter 'Rockeby,' a steam sentinal and an 04 class shunter were all in action. Metropolitan No.1 was on passenger duties for the morning, the Coventry No.1 took over with a goods train in the afternoon. We joined the trains in the afternoon and wewerre able to ride in the break vans of the train. We were left stranded on the running line at one point as a line in the vacuum system came loose and the train came to a shuddering stop. The sential and 0-4-0 'Rockeby' were on the other side of the site. 'Rockeby' had two excellently kept vintage carriages and the sentinal had a small goods train it was running up and down the yard.
