Buckminster Fuller World Game Synergy Anticapatory

A one hour conversations with renowned "Comprehensivist" Polymath Buckminter Fuller at his "World Game" offices in Philadelphia. Much time is given to asserting his "synergetic" major premise that in terms of mankinds collective technological augmented advancement through time we had reached a point - in terms of our collective capabliity to provvide "life suport" to the people of "Spaceship Earth" - within a correct assumption there were more "haves" than "have nots" for the first time in human history and that by utilizing "Anticapatory Design Scince" we could beginning serious modeiling the premise we had transcended material scarcity and we had reached that "Critical Point" in the year 1970.

Buckminster Fuller: Starting with the Universe - Whitney Museum

Co-curators Dana Miller and Michael Hays discuss Buckminster Fuller: Starting with the Universe, an exhibition featuring one of the great American visionaries of the twentieth century. Utilizing his doing "more with less" credo, Fuller's designs endeavored to benefit the largest portion of humanity while consuming the minimum amount of the earth's resources. This video presents four examples of Fuller's integrated approach to the design and technology of housing, transportation, and cartography--the Dymaxion House, ca. 1930, Dymaxion Transport Vehicle, ca.1933 , Wichita House, ca. 1945, and The Fuller Projection Map, ca. 1943.

Buckminster Fuller - Interviewd on 'Psychic Phenomena' - 1/5

Buckminster Fuller described himself as a "living verb." Holder of 48 honorary doctorate degrees, born in the 1890s, he was a philosopher and engineer whose experience and global view of humanity and science enabled him to transcend nationalism and temporary current conditions and foresee the direction of major events in the future. He created the geodesic dome to show how much can be accomplished utilizing very little. In this program and series of interviews, he points out how mankind is moving from the tangible world which can be evidenced by sight, sound, smell and touch, into the invisible world of energy, ions, electrical forces, etc., so much so that "99.9999% of what affects our reality will be undetectable by our senses." He states that "man must learn to think for himself, rather than follow blindly what he has been taught." "As the astronauts stated, the words 'up' and 'down' have no meaning. The correct words are 'out' and 'in'. This was confirmed when mankind learned the Earth was round, not flat." He expresses many fascinating theories in these interviews that conditions today confirm. Richard Buckminster "Bucky" Fuller (July 12, 1895 -- July 1, 1983)[1] was an American architect, author, designer, inventor, and futurist. Fuller published more than 30 books, inventing and popularizing terms such as "Spaceship Earth", ephemeralization, and synergetics. He also developed numerous inventions, mainly architectural designs, the best known of which is the geodesic ...

The Geological Diagrams of Buckminster Fuller

K. Michael Hays (Arch 1976) presented drawings and models from the Buckminster Fuller archive that demonstrate his understanding of the geometrical foundation of natural and designed phenomena. Presented on October 29, 2008, in the Architecture Auditorium. Michael Hays has played a central role in the advancement of architectural theory and the role of the architect as cultural critic. As editor of Assemblage and author of numerous books, he has focused attention on the work of Hannes Meyer, Ludwig Hilberseimer and Mies van der Rohe; as well as Peter Eisenman, Machado & Silvetti and the late John Hejduk. He is the Eliot Noyes Professor of Architectural Theory at Harvard University and the first curator of architecture at the Whitney Museum of American Art where he directed the recent exhibition on Buckminster Fuller.

Maharishi and Buckminster Fuller Press Conference, Amherst, July 22 1971. Part 2 Symposium on the Science of Creative Intelligence, Buckminster Fuller and Maharishi Maheshi Yogi , University of Massachusetts; Amherst, Massachusetts. Maharishi University of Management www.mum.edu As a new science of consciousness, the Science of Creative Intelligence provides a practical means to unfold the permanent experience of higher states of consciousness and offers the theoretical understanding of that experience which is necessary for the most rapid growth towards enlightenment. Founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the Science of Creative Intelligence draws upon the modern sciences and the ancient Vedic science of consciousness, linking them together into a new integrated approach to knowledge. Study of the Science of Creative Intelligence allows students to know the relationship of all things to their own Self. It structures that refinement of the intellect in which everything is increasingly seen in the light of the most unified and boundless state of consciousness, the Unified Field of Natural Law. This self-referral state of consciousness lies at the basis of all Nature's functioning and stands as the foundation for fulfillment in life and success in every enterprise. *Tags* Buckminster Fuller, Bucky, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, SCI, Science of Creative Intelligence, Enlightenment, America, Amherst, University, Massachusetts, World Peace, Transcendental Meditation, India, Guru

Architecting the Future: Buckminster Fuller Lord Norman Foster

www.vernissage.tv | The exhibition Architecting the Future Buckminster Fuller & Lord Norman Foster in Miami's Design District is dedicated to two iconic inventions by architect, designer and inventor Buckminster Fuller: the Fly's Eye Dome and the Dymaxion 4 car. In 1961, the "Fly's Eye Dome" was envisioned by Fuller as a fully functional, air deployable, low cost off-the-grid shelter. Though never fully realized in his lifetime, Fuller created three prototypes -- a 12, 24 and 50 foot dome. A historic restoration of the 24 foot dome was recently completed in Bristol, RI. Also on display is Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion car. This 'omni-directional transport system' (patent 1937) was intended to fly, jump-jet style, when suitable alloys and engines became available. Three cars were produced in Fuller's lifetime. Renowned contemporary architect Lord Norman Foster recently reconstructed Fuller's Dymaxion Car in England -- Dymaxion 4. The 24 foot dome is a part of the Craig Robins Collection. It will be installed in a pedestrian plaza currently being developed in the heart of the Miami Design District. (Part 3) Symposium on the Science of Creative Intelligence, Buckminster Fuller and Maharishi Maheshi Yogi , University of Massachusetts; Amherst, Massachusetts Maharishi University of Management http The Science of Creative Intelligence has two aspects. The theoretical aspect is the systematic study of the field of pure creative intelligence, the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature, and the principles by which it governs the coexistence and evolution of all systems in Nature. This aspect of the Science of Creative Intelligence consists of 33 videotaped lectures by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi which provide a comprehensive analysis and foster a deep understanding of the principles of the Science of Creative Intelligence. The practical aspect of the Science of Creative Intelligence is the Transcendental Meditation program. The Transcendental Meditation technique is a simple, natural, effortless technique for experiencing, in a systematic manner, Transcendental Consciousness, the simplest form of human awareness. Transcendental Consciousness is the home of all the Laws of Nature, the pure field of creative intelligence from which all of creation arises. By contacting this pure field of creative intelligence one experiences directly the nature, range, development and application of this field of creative intelligence which governs everything in creation. Buckminster Fuller - Dymaxion House

The Dymaxion House was developed by inventor and architect Buckminster Fuller to address several perceived shortcomings with existing homebuilding techniques. Fuller designed several versions of the house at different times, but they were all factory manufactured kits, assembled on site, intended to be suitable for any site or environment and to use resources efficiently. One important design consideration was ease of shipment and assembly. The word Dymaxion is a brand name that Fuller used for several of his inventions. The Dymaxion was completed during 1929 after two years of development, and later redesigned during 1945. Buckminster Fuller wanted to mass produce a bathroom and a house. His first "dymaxion" design was based on the design of a grain bin. During World War II, the US Army commissioned Fuller to send these housing units to the Persian Gulf. [1] The Siberian grain-silo house was the first system in which Fuller noted the "dome effect." Many installations have reported that a dome induces a local vertical steam driven vortex that sucks cooler air downward into a dome if the dome is vented properly (a single overhead vent, and peripheral vents). Fuller adapted the later units of the grain-silo house to use this effect. The final design of the Dymaxion house used a central vertical stainless-steel strut on a single foundation. Structures similar to the spokes of a bicycle-wheel hung down from this supporting the roof, while beams radiated out supported the ...
