Buddy Miles "Live" - Joe Tex & Take It Off Him and Put It On Me

Many only know Buddy Miles live from his performance with the Band of Gypsys. But in the years following the Band of Gypsys Buddy recorded and toured with a tremendous group of musicians. I had the pleasure and luck of seeing several of his concerts during this period. His concerts of that time were tremendous and should be a strong part of his musical legacy. Thankfully Buddy recorded one such toured and released it as Buddy Miles Live in 1971 on Mercury Records. With the legendary guitarist Charlie Karp and bassist David Hull (part time Aerosmith) along with a tremendous horn section Buddy left us a recording that all fans should try to hear.

The late Buddy Miles jamming on Red House 1997 NYC. Tony Catania on lead guitar, Chaz West on vocals (as well Buddy) and John Smithson on bass. A guy with a camera and a bald guy jump in the way in part of the clip, but still some good footage of Buddy and friends. RIP Buddy

Jimi Hendrix & Buddy Miles at Newport on June 22, 1969

The quality is somewhat lacking, but the blues rifts are someting to experience! Watch the guys on the stage as they listen to some of the most improvised blues they had ever heard! Notice that Noel Redding and Billy Cox are not present on stage to play bass. I do not know who the bass player is, but he is good! I do not know of this video ever being officially released by Experience Hendrix LLC. I NEED HELP HERE: I cannot identify who the Bass player is within this video. One thing is for certain, it is not Billy Cox or Noel Redding. I would have thought that Billy Cox would be playing the Bass since Buddy Miles is on the Drums. Such a rare item! If anyone knows who the Bass player is, please send me a message with this information!
Jimi Hendrix & Buddy Miles - Them Changes

My Favorit Song By Jimi Hendrix Ript this off my dads CD he Brought 2005 Band of Gypsys was a blues rock band led by Lead Guitarist Jimi Hendrix and backed by Bassist Billy Cox and Drummer Buddy Miles. Hendrix formed the band after the dissolution of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Band of Gypsys is also the band's eponymous live album recorded on two separate nights, 31 December 1969 and 1 January 1970, at the Fillmore East. Released just three months before his death in 1970, it was the last album Hendrix himself authorized, and the only Hendrix-authorized album to be released on Capitol Records (in the US). This was the result of a settlement regarding a recording contract he had signed with Ed Chalpin's PPX Industries in October 1965. Produced by Hendrix, Band of Gypsys reached #5 in the US and #6 in the UK.

Buddy Miles - "Tonight" by Patrick Craig and Robbie Long

Recorded at Ice House Studios in San Rafael and the Record Plant in Sausalito, this was one of the songs from Buddy's never-released "Club Fed" sessions. Written by Pat Craig and Robbie Long, the song was destined to sit on the shelf until now. Buddy died in 2008 and we feel that it is fitting that some of his best work should finally be put out there.
