hay fellow enthusest back at it. workng hard to get job done. this is a very nice broad leaf maple taken out near wolf creek oregon. i had the opurtnity to be working a burl wood facility. my job was to pressure wash burl then skin or peal for prodution lathe. this work is precision work not for evreyone. i love running my 044 magnum stil borared out.many others use larger saws but i can do majic with this one this saw makes trimming burls quite easy. my name is chad and had friend Cory Livinggood working the hi pressure wand. so much pressure you wouldnt want to be hit by it. these burls are skined, boiled then placed on large veneer lathe. the scrap wood is used by myself for a number of projects. wood turnning, paintings, tables and wooden pipes, the are that i am cutting is the sap zone were new growth has been. the interior is different color. chek out web page EXOTICMANZANITA.COM i make wonderfull creations out of this type of wood. got some nice wood avalible just call or email 541 660 4491 hope you enjoy Manzanitaman
walnut burl
This is a very large walnut knot or break. I found this back in the 70"s It was still growing , the tree was on a bank and it had been broken and grew again up to a tall tree .. I had cut the break out and found this burl. The way it sits on the wood is up side down. Its weight is around 70 pounds. Does sit good for glass top like at table or you can cut it into pieces for handles.
